Umm.... He was equally THE MAN entering the S6. Yes, Kessler was widely recognized as THE MAN, but many ppl, myself included consider Bute and Froch, Kessler's EQUAL. And after beating Bute, for several yrs, Froch was THE MAN. And if he came back, fought anyone in the top 10, he would AGAIN, LARGELY be considered, THE MAN.:huh:huh:huh
I'm still trying to understand how Calzaghe got in at all. His biggest win was Eubank in 97, he then went a whole decade before getting his next big win vs Lacy. Something doesn't seem right there. Oh and refusing to rematch Hopkins after the controversial decision too.
cowardzaghe got in by backdoor, by setting a new record for the new division for a new organisation in a sneaky way
Froch can definitely 'enter' The Boxing Hall of Fame, but will he be voted in, who knows? He's a tough as nails fighter, but gets outboxed by any elite boxer. Medium plus power and snail slow.
Yeah, I never understood the sudden love for Calzaghe in the world boxing community. I think he was good, very good. I really liked his utter dismantling of Lacy, and the win over Kessler was solid. I don't rate his Eubank win highly, but it was a good one for a young fighter. But, as you say, he spent almost 10 whole years facing mainly farcical opposition in farcical "world title (WBO)" fights.
