that's how much he digressed in two years since "The Fight" which in my opinion, exceeded the original Fight of 1971

vs Sugar, truth be told, rds 1,3, 7 were even and 9 could have been even but SRL fans will never admit or even acknowledge this because they want it all their own way

and if you disagree with them, they will hurl accusations at you "are you a hater of SRL?"

Well I am sure not a believer especially when he invites Hagler inside a ring 5 yrs before and then ducks out of fighting him in front of his own fans

prime Hagler would have laid Sugar and his comeback plans to rest early but Sugar wisely chose the path of least resistance

I'm somewhat of an SRL fan (compared to some people here, anyway) and I disagree with your generalization. To me, 1 was an easy Leonard round, 7 was a clear Hagler round, and 3 &9 were very close (I thought that Leonard probably stole round 3 with his late flurry though).

Hagler is my favorite fighter of all time and though I'm a fan of both fighters and I agree with most of what you said, I don't agree with calling Hagler a 4 round fighter. He still beats most mw contenders at that stage of his career as diminished as he was.

everybody seems to see the fight differently. so there seems to be alot of questions on his worth as a middleweight

a few defenses against some top notch contenders like Nunn would have shut up the critics. Frankly, I think his chances would have been very poor, and the outcome downright disasterous

instead, he picks fights with very poor quality fighters; Lalonde, over the hill Hearns, Duran

but once Terry Norris entered the picture I said to myself "aww, now we have our answer!"

well here's news for you. I watched Marvin three weeks before the fight in sparring (Palm Springs) and he couldnt even compete with his own sparring partners. There were three of them. They simply whizzed past him, and left Marvin in their dust

trust me, he was no better than a 4 round fighter at that point. It was like Ali getting beat in a 15 rounder to Leon Spinks who had never gone 15

And yet, he went 15 rounds with Leonard and lost a controversial decision. Not really seeing how that equates to a 4 rd fighter

    you are mistken

    12, not 15

Hagler was nowhere near what he was even in 1985

    fatigued easily, slow as molasses

    didnt you see the fight?

are you confusing this Hagler with the Hagler who trounced Sibson?

I know, "Hagler was just a LITTLE off"

right? Okay, anything to make you feel better

Maybe I'm not explaining myself correctly.

I DO think Hagler was a shell of his former self in the Leonard fight

I also think that same fighter, as diminished as he was, was far too dangerous and skilled to be called a 4 round fighter.

You may have a personal experience seeing him spar before the fight and that experience justifiably molds your opinion. All I can go by is the fight itself, which was highly competitive in the eyes of many.

Not only that, but I thought most of Haglers best work in that fight was after the 4th round, not before.

You sir are angry. Breath in breath out,its only opnions. And since you and that redrooster fellow are so passionate about denigrating Leonards (and yes your in that very small minorty that let your personal dislike blind you to the fighter he was) career Ill just leave you and that group with this. Someone as respected as Emmanuel Stewart said Leonard was one of the best fighters he ever saw. End of the story....

Lol I guess your smarter then one of the greatest trainers in history. The one that trained one of Leonard's greatest opponents. It only tells me how your personal feelings have blinded you. Take a vacation on a nice beach. Bahamas, Jamaica somewere were you can have a lot of free time on hand. Think about your nonsense .

Manny Steward said EVERY fighter who beat one of his was one of the best he ever saw, so I wouldn't set too much stall by that if I were you.
