    No evidence?
    1- evidence lyle did hurt foreman badly and dropped him twice.norton just could get destroyed.
    2-evidence lyle looked nearly the stronger men against foreman and george had to fight in circle sometimes because he had problems pushing back lyle. And foreman did walk over norton like an insect.
    3-evidence forman rated lyle in the top 2 of hardest punchers that he fought. Norton was not even in the debate.
    4- lyle traded with shavers and bombed him out, norton got smashed by shavers
    So yes,there are great evidence

    I'm saying he "could" not "would". Are you suggesting that Lyle was better than a 1978 version of Larry Holmes? Hey, I like Lyle but I think you are making him out to be something he wasn't. He was a big strong guy with power but he wasn't on George Foreman's level... or anywhere near it. Don't fixate on his fight vs. Foreman. Lyle got KTFO vs. C00ney just like Norton did (neither man made it past the first round)... yes, both were well past prime vs. C00ney.

    Are you serious? Are you trolling? It is all about styles . is irrelevant if lyle was "better" than holmes or not.stylistically lyle is much more dangerous for norton. Was foreman better than ali? Who was worse match for norton? Foreman or ali?
    Leroy caldwell fought lyle and foreman and he said that lyle did hit as hard as foreman.of course that george had a better pack. But in the Power department lyle was in his league.
    Lyle was much more shot than norton was vs ****ey

    Norton fought 39 rounds with Muhammad Ali and took everything Ali threw at him. Lyle fell to pieces when Ali landed a crisp right hand.

    When Norton was getting KO'd by Shavers, Lyle was getting KO'd by Lynn Ball.

    You focus only on Foreman's fight with Lyle but Foreman was not at his best for that one, he'd been out of competitive action for two long, he'd only faced exhibition opponents since losing to Ali. Foreman was rusty and his conditioning and durability was depleted, and his punches were lacking power. You overrate Lyle because Foreman had a bad night.
