I don't know that I would "favor" any but in my opinion here is a list of who would have the best chance vs. Langford-

    Ezzard Charles
    Mickey Walker
    Ray Robinson
    Jake Lamotta
    Marvin Hagler
    Ray Leonard
    Tommy Hearns
    Roy Jones Jr.
    Bernard Hopkins
    James Toney
    Harry Greb
    Stanley Ketchel
    Bob Fitzsimmons

Instead of wasting their time on arguments they cant win, indefensible positions, and pointless hero worshipping rhetoric they should just get a room. Neither of them like me because both have repeatedly had their asses handed to them in debates that ive been a part of. For some reason Ive becone the focal point of their nonsense when plenty of others have publicly denounced their blind adoration and ridiculous, often raving comments. You are correct, it doesnt bother me at all. On the one hand I think its funny they take it so seriously. On the other hand i think its sad they are so masochistic.

All I know is...Greb is an ATG. Gibbons is great...Darcy may have been on his way to becoming one...and Darcy kicked Chip's ass no matter how it's spun. That is the bottom line...If he didn't want to fight in Australia, he should have stayed home. Because Darcy beat him...That's all I've got to say on the matter.
    Carry on...

Yeah it's not the best time to be a fan right now but I still give them 500 quid a year for my season ticket and another 50 for my top, hopefully one day theyll come good again

I never said otherwise. My point was that it remained to be seen whether Darcy could have duplicated those performances away from home. Thats no easy task even under the best circumstances. And like I said, he wasnt the first to beat Chip, or knock him out and wasnt even the most impressive of the bunch who did. In fact before Chip lost to Darcy he had 45 fights were he failed to be returned a winner. McCoy had less losses and draws when he beat Chip for the title than Chip had when he fought Darcy. So its ok in Gregs mind to denigrate McCoy as an unworthy champion byt at the same time he will laud Darcy for beating everyones sloppy seconds.

JESUS a bloke wakes and finds a damn essay in front of him, why can you just make several posts so I can answer or ignore each point. From what I read Smith did not claim the title after beating Papke but wanted to beat him a second time before doing so and I think he did beat Papke a second time but as I just woke up I will get to the rest later.... not really an essay... its half a book you wrote there. Oh yeah, as usual you have got things mixed up a bit... I sad the rules as applying to Fitz was that to stay in the US permanently he had to become a citizen... just like that American bloke Les Darcy.

So it appears you are someone who has just been PRETENDING to be a mate of my friend from the USA ??? why would you do that ??? as for Doug, he is a nice fellow, polite does not run his mouth off, debates like a man and I must say I like him unlike your sweetheart Klompton who is a foul mouthed disrespectful guy who always has an agenda but who cares, what I would like to know is, who are you ? why can't you be honest and tell my friend who you are so he doesn't actually delete someone innocent from his page ? This forum really has become toxic hasn't it, with Stephen Compton's little minions running around all over facebook to see who is saying what.... Klompton is disliked all over the place actually because of his rudeness to people, he didn't start with me, he had been annoying folk for years before I ever had the bad luck to see his name talking vile stuff about Les Darcy..... he hates Darcy, and has a long time before I met him. Darcy has many admirers and your buddy has made all of them angry, not that he cares as you say, that's typical of a totally arrogant individual. And don't call my mates nutjobs.

You have never handed our asses to us, he knows a massive amount about boxing history and has one of the best boxing pages out there, you wouldn't have had any problems with him except you had to talk a load of bull about his favourite fighter, and don't dare pretend you don't have a favourite fighter either, Harry Greb, a fighter i have plenty of respect for, I just don't agree with you that he is the best fighter of all time and I only bring up negatives about him to get under your skin and I have had success doing it but I wouldn't do it if you showed proper respect to ALL great fighters.... and before posting, do some spell checks, you half literate.

First of all, thank you for your support of me for the cancer.
secondly, yes Darcy did destroy Chip, cannot be argued against as we have the film but if we didn't Klompton would say Chip was paid off, to Chips credit he said Darcy was a great fighter, he was, the films prove that, as for Chip not wanting to come to Australia, I have doubts, the money on offer was excellent and he couldn't resist and there was also the matter of the belt which some here claim never existed, well Chip didn't think so did he. Cheers mate.
