If Tommy somehow survives Qawi (a big ask), it would have been through running all night, and he still would be bruised and battered at the end. I see no way for Hearns to win this.

Qawi way too much for Hearns...or Leonard for that matter.

Be careful some idiots will tell you that hearns was bigger because he was taller and got longer reach

I respect Tommy but he doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell here.

Tommy is my fave but he can't win this.

Qawi was particularly adept rolling with the right hand and coming back with his own. He would get under Tommy's punches and ravage his ribs before coming back upstairs. Qawi had loads of power at 175 and took a great punch as well. I have no doubt Hearns could get some respect very early, he still had oodles of speed and power at 175 but it wouldn't last long.

Qawi was a superb defensive fighter as well, loved the way he dodged, parried and blocked punches. He's just too big and robust here.

Prime Qawi would be to strong for Hearns at 175. Also Qawi was also hard to hit with the right hand clean. And if Spinks and Saad Muammed couldn't hurt him seriously at that weight. Bad match, bad night for Hearns.

I think you're right. But Hearns would have had the reach, speed and could still crack at 175.. I agree with favoring Qawi.. Might be a better fight than some think though.

    Agreed. Too rugged, too strong.

I think Hearns could have kept him on the outside with the jab and good movement. Dwight would also have to be aware of the right. Hearns could also keep him at bay with left hooks to the body from long range. He'd tie Dwight up when he did get inside. The height and reach advantages are just too much.

I think prime Saad would have a better shot at 175 lb. Hearns. He could walk through Hearns like Barkely did at 160 lbs, in a kamakaze sort of way.
