Your absolutely right..... Why expect reason from clowns and haters. Hey what did Leonard do to a few of you anyway? Did you lose your fortune on Hagler? Duran? Haters are strong on this subject. Blind to reason lol.

It's disingenuous for anybody to claim SRL couldn't beat Monzon or at least give him a good fight. Monzon was troubled by movement, fast feet and hands. When you couple those with the guile and chin SRL had... he could beat Monzon on points. I'd still make Monzon the favorite because this is his natural weight. However, it would be no easy task, and if they fought 3 times, I'd venture to say SRL takes at least one.

what makes you think it's personal?

the problem is you're in love with the guy and can't stand it when the truth is told about him

he really wasnt great at all because if he was, the Hagler fight would have come off a month or two after the Baltimore Civic Center fiasco of 1982

    what a chump!

the cherry picking dolt finally got harpooned in public by Norris, exposed for all the world to see

I suppose he'd make a fight of it with Monzon seeing as how Carlos was not very quick, not very aggressive

still, Leonard never faced many middleweights in their prime

Oh, that's right, he never faced ANY middleweights in their prime

I'd like to be a believer but his 36-3-1 record isn't exactly jaw dropping, and his career was too damn short

and his jaw wasnt the best either

Kevin Howard? It really shouldnt have been that hard

Only your truth Red, as I said before your cherry picking, you talk about the knock down by Howard after another one of his long layoffs. But he wasn't knocked down by a viscous puncher like Hearns, the aggressive combination punching of Duran, or a natural middleweight in Hagler. Ali was dropped by Cooper, Galento dropped Louis, Duran dropped by Dejesus, Pryor dropped by Kamada so all those great fighters dropped by average fighters should also be penalized, at least by your way of thinking. Stop the drama. Be real, its a personal dislike clouding your veiw of the fighter. Same with Foxy same with Foreman&dempsey hell all 3 of you may be the same person, an angry Leonard hater that can't be reasoned with.

    please, you're just in denial!

It's not that anyone hates him; it's that you're in love with him

 Say it, YOU LOVE LEONARD!

Your man had a weak chin and his many trips to the canvas PROVE IT

and his overall ring record? 36-3-1

this is nothing like Duran's 68-1 record coming out of the lightweight division

How come Leonard didn't have a 68-1 record like Duran?

    Huh???

He certainly didn't have his chin

Speaking of chins, all time greats don't get floored by kevin Howards, then retire immediately after because they had a rough time of it. How pathetically weak!

Little Kevin Howard with those slender "little girl" arms of his.

it's obvious most of his 154 pounds were from the waist down

and how about that Geraldo fight. Marcos the professional slapper seemed to have Ray in quite some difficulty

Difficulty in standing UP that is! That was SOOOO embarassing!

I can see why he would skip Nunn, for Duran. Mike must have really presented a threat to Ray

Young, black, fast, with the potential to put Ray to sleep vs fat, pudgy, over the hill, and by that time, just basically laid down for that pompous swine

Ray LIKES opponents like that who will lie down for him as opposed to youthful, fas,t hungry types that will paste him from multiple directions (Norris) , put him on the deck, and make him fight just to last 12 rounds

How traumatic that night must have been for him! It only took him six years to get over it

You want some more boy, come get it!

    i'm waiting for you :D

Hmmm, Hearns dropped Duran near at will but SRL took some damn good shots off him without getting overly hurt. Even in the second fight he survived.

    Oh REALLY?

well as one of my college professors might say, PROVE IT

see, the real reason you say that is because you don't know how to refute the things I bring up

the way he gets dropped in fights, the way he picked fights with slower fighters while avoiding younger, faster, more mobile fighters

and when he DIDNT avoid them, well, we all saw what happened!

Now I want you do do something for me. I want you to go to Leonard's Facebook page and ask him "Ray, what's the REAL reason you didn't fight Micheal Nunn"

and if it's any reason other than "because I thought Mike's chances were too good"

    then you know he's lying!

Tommy was incredibly faded after the Kinchen fight. Of course, that's when Ray sought a rematch

heavier yes, and now strong enough to drop Leonard whereas in 1981, lacking the strength to do so

His optimal fighting prowess of course came in 1984 when both strength and speed reached their maximum peak and made Tommy an almost unbeatable fighting machine

simply put, Hearns of Sept. 81, too weak

hearns of June 1989, way too slow (and drained)

    Seriously, he was damaged goods
