Frampton vs Quigg punch stats.

Would be interesting the see the round by round stats. Quigg probably threw 22 punches between rounds 1 and 6, with the remaining 300 between 7-12.

It's funny how people place such emphasis on punch stats rather than what they see with their own eyes. Frampton won the fight.

 

I was interested to know the compubox #s, can people dig out a unification match at ANY weight with lower out-put?
Pretty weird stuff here + the matey-mates all smiles cr@p at the end.

Frampton was hitting gloves all night quigg hardly had a mark on him but ironically has a broken jaw. The early rounds won frampton the fight for being busy with a touch of ring craft but for everyone who says quigg has no defense they were proven wrong.

 

Quigg's defence was solid and Frampton was made to miss a lot throughout the fight.

 

Well he was extremely inactive, and had bulky gloves plastered to his face all through the night. Some might call that good defense. I don't.

 

Good point. Stats don't always tell the full story. Like in football when a team lose but the stats say they had a lot of shots. How many were speculative efforts from 25 yards and how many were clear cut chances

 

His new mate the Surgeon would likely disagree with that

 

Just read an interview with mcguigan. He says Scott hit Carl with some power shots but Carl hit Scott a lot more throughout the fight. Well apparently not. It's funny to think if quigg went out in the first 6 rounds and just threw wildly but kept throwing regardless of landing he could have won on 'work rate' without actually landing any more shots.

 

The cards would suggest that hitting gloves and elbows is better than throwing the odd counter that does find the target.

I'd like to ask Carl and the Wee fella about the right hand Quigg landed, and the interruption by the ref in the 11th.

I'm not a Neurologist, but having the benefit of slow mo replay would suggest to me that Carl was detached from his senses after the punch landed, credit to Carl he clearly has a decent beard.
