Sky Sports PPV

I'd say a lot of people who buy these PPVs also pay for SKY Sports. I think those people are getting a very poor deal, especially considering the types of fights Hearn is putting on PPV now.

 

I've not bought a sky PPV for years, not since Hatton v Pac if I recall until last night.

The main fight was a let down and to be honest the undercard was very poor.

 

The undercard was truly shocking. I would have complaints if that was on ordinary sky sports let alone a PPV.

 

One would hope Sky and Matchroom make more of an effort with the Martin vs Joshua undercard, instead of just selling the PPV based on the main event and Joshua's mainstream / crossover appeal.

 

I'd like to see purses published in the UK to at least show where part of the money is going for comparison's sake.

A decent area title fight, a British Title fight and a top international contest as chief support is the way for to go for Matchroom under cards. The problem is Hearn has too many fighters for this to happen with him stacking every single card on Sky with "showcase" fights.

 

It was a shocker, Hearn couldn't even push for a rematch because it was so poor.

 

Last night was poor value but Sky or Hearn cant take blame for the main event that was down to the fighters, Frampton was there to do what he needed to do and Quigg in my opinion just froze.

 

It wasn't just the main event, the whole event was poor.

It was never a PPV event in my opinion and like I said it was that poor even Hearn couldn't push for a rematch.

 

I didn't see the fight. I don't have SKY. I don't even watch normal TV. I don't even have to pay TV licence, I watch no live TV. So, my cost is £0.

But, as a neutral observer, I think it's wrong that any of these domestic boxing matches are now being sold as PPV fights.
These types of fights used to be Tuesday night BBC Sportsnight in the 1980s. (hosted by Steve Ryder or David Icke perhaps ) Or maybe Saturday night BBC World Championship Boxing Live since it's calling itself world titles.
And, then until the last few years, would have been standard SKY Sports boxing.

Well, Lennox Lewis v. Frank Bruno was normal SKY Sports back in the day too.

Frampton and Quigg are relative nobodies. It's weird that they're considered PPV.
But if people are buying .....
