The fact that PPV used to be £15 and the greedy cants put it up £2 to £17 is even more of a kick in the ***** to boxing fans who pay their subscription to sky. As a poster said on here during the week it's probably sky trying to claw back some of the money they shelled out for premier league football.
I couldn't stand FW but at least you know where you stood with him, the level of slimey, self interest, greed and disregard for the sport Hearn has is unprecedented in the UK.
absolute **** take wtf is left to view on sky sports? anything they can build up and mug the casuals off with goes on ppv, will all world title fights be ppv in future, ffs even A joshua should be on normal sky sports ch.
39 boxers listed on matchrooms site I think he is starting to know how much he is unliked with all the boos at the end when he spoke, though knowing Hearn it wont bother him in the slightest
Joke of a concept. Outdated and never lives up to the hype. Feel for the poor people who have to pay for Sky Sports and Pay Per View! What is there to Sky Sports now? F-1, Darts, Best Of's (reminds me of old repeats on Gold/Dave), Cricket and a bit of Football (they don't even show the best games ffs!!). Oh, and Golf. Con Merchants of the highest order are Sky. The killer is is that Eddie builds his big fights on them being a clash between who is the king of the land. And we have to pay for it. And the guys usually are regarded not even the best in their divisions! Froch/GG - Froch was the No.2 and GG was what, exactly? Borderline top 10? Quigg/Frampton - Quigg is probably third best in the country at his weight (wasn't even a legit champ, either) and Carl will never face the best man (Rigo). Brook/Khan - Another local fight. Not on that we have to pay for a fight between two fighters who are local rivals.
Selby/Warrington is apparently being lined up for PPV in the Summer. Not sure how Hearn sells that outside of Yorkshire and South Wales.
The worst thing sky could possibly do was give hearn exclusivity on sky. 3 or 4 promoters would encourage at least a bit of competition to put on decent fights. What we are stuck with now is a joke. Brook v gavin, Joshua v white, bellew v cleverly Ppv?! Really
I think Sky may regret this decision eventually- they are very reliant on the continued success of Joshua and making other stars PPV in the mean time.
True. Paying a monthly sky fee and paying out for unworthy ppv's is turning into a farce. We don't ask for much as boxing fans. Just a few solid intriguing undercard fights to back up the main events.
Considering the money on the table offered to both fighters how else could the fight be made without PPV revenue. Frampton would have never took the fight without PPV money. Have to accept that for some of these fights to happen, PPV is the only option as that generates the revenue needed to pay the money. Also I wish people would stop laying all the blame at Eddie Hearn. Sky make the final decision on PPV fights.
