Quigg won the fight, all Frampton did better was look busy, Quigg was the more agressive and I thought he just about nicked it, the first six rounds were a real 'Mayweather' of a fight, the last six rounds were great, both good fighters but Quigg won
No, the first 6 rounds were Quigg and Frampton. Boring as ****. If it was a Floyd type fight, they'd be on ppv.
you fail to see that Mayweather is the new word for boring "Oh what a Mayweather day, I wish something exciting would happen" :thumbsup
116-112 Frampy, and I could see 115-113. If Quigg had won the 12th I could have lived with a draw, but he clearly didn't so everything scored in his favor is flawed/biased.
Unfortunately for Quigg, he just didn't do anything in the 1st half of the fight to warrant him getting those rounds, which ultimately cost him the fight. Frampton didn't land anything of note, but as you said he was busier, looked like he was trying to make something happen, and if the other guy isn't throwing anything there's not a question on who the judges are going to see winning those rounds, especially in Frampton's hometown. I don't know if Quigg just froze a bit in the moment or if the strategy was just not to take chances early and come on late, but either way, he only has himself to blame. He proved himself to be the clearly stronger fighter in the 2nd half of the fight, landing all the quality work, overpowering Frampton, and hurting him in the 11th, but it was too little, too late. And to Frampton's credit, he did show good heart to withstand Quigg's 2nd half push and hang on for the tight win.
