let me ask you a better question:

are you telling us he wasn't?

yeah, he chickened out watching/commenting on the fight by ringside as he watched Kalambay go to sleep in 90 seconds

It was then Ray knew he wasn't in Mike's class!

I also learned of the two running into each other at a party. Ray vehemently dislikes Mike because he felt Mike moved into his territory

Too bad Ray didnt have the nerve to voice his dislike of Mike openly because you know what would happen next. Mike would say "gee Ray, I hope I haven't made you angry but if I have, feel free to do something about it ANYTIME!"

and Ray wouldnt want to do that

and you know why? because leonard only fights people he knows he can beat :yep

    slow, flat footed, stiff, etc

you know, people like Dave Green, Don Lalonde, and whatever was left of Hagler and about two dozen others

except for that time when he "fought", and I use that term loosely, - - - - Terry Norris & Hector Camacho!

but that's okay, we all make mistakes

Nunn by short and sweet KO via left uppercut to the face

BLAM! Like splitting a log in two

    Nunn by close decision

Prime Leonard was never natural at 160 lbs. He would be a small middleweight.

Nunn showed in his destruction of Curtis Parker that Ray Leonard couldn't have handled him.

Another Leonard detractor who ignores Leonard's accomplishments when he was in his prime.

1981 Hearns, 1979 Benitez, and 1980 Duran were "slow flatfooted and stiff?". HELL NO.

Even 1989 Hearns had power and decent speed.

Post Hagler Leonard avoided Nunn because he was way too high risk, low reward

1988-1991 Leonard was far removed from his 1979-1982 prime. He was about using his name to maximie $$ after the Hagler fight. I don't blame him.

You totally left out prime Leonard in any of your points. The OP even said "Prime for Prime."

Leonard and Parker were so similar stylistically (sarcasm).

Even 1988 Leonard was much better than 1988 Parker. Parker was about 4 yrs. memoved from his prime when he fought a close to prime Nunn.

Again Red did Leonard tell YOU he was afraid of Nunn? Hagler? Or anyone else? As I've said before your personal dislike make you so blind to the fighters acompliments you shouldn't even be allowed to get on any topic on Leonard (or Benitez either since in your eyes he only moved his head and was slow). But haters gonna hate, you do THAT very well.

Yeah, I was just being a smart ass. I think Nunn beats Leonard, but it's not nearly the "no contest" that some are saying. Leonard did have some ability.

tis you who are downplaying reality.

Ray's kryptonite are speed, and power

Ask him about Camacho and you will be convinced this is so

Mike's speed, height, edge in strength, elusiveness, quickness, and mind numbing left hand are what made this matchup utterly distasteful to Ray Leonard

This was like Hagler 1982 all over again except that it was 1989, and Mike wouldnt be getting a shot in five years

so now you think he's going to come right out and admit it?

    THEN you'd be convinced

Poor you. reduced to the same one liners

now let me ask you again, do you love Ray Leonard?

I've asked you twice before and you refuse to answer

    and I would know why

regarding Benitez, he was okay but no speed, and not much fight in him like Pryor, or Hagler

We know the red rooster took a vow of madness a long time ago .......based on his fetish for terry norris .....but have the rest of you taken a vow of madness too......?

Michael Nunn the most overrated....disappointment in the mw ranks of the last 40 years.

So ovverrated to the skytop.....based on what?

Some moron here reckons the nunn who beat tate beats both hagler and leonard in 87:nut......oh yeah nunn is so highly rated as he beat a tate who struggled with a old shot sibson...he beat a roldan already finished by hagler and hearns....he struggles badly to beat a starling and for 8 rounds was in danger of losing to a totally spent curry!!!even crude iran barkley pushed him!

The 87 hagler would easily outpoint nunn

The 87 srl had thecsame speed of hand and foot but hit harder and was far smarter.

Anyone who thinks otherwise knows nothing about nunn
