why on earth was gavin mcdonnell chief support for saturday? its not as if he was facing a credible opponent or fighting for a major title it is baffling imo

gavin was lucking to win the british against leigh wood on late notice and then drew with josh wale who is area level at best and that is after he beat him previously. he then manages to sneak a european title against an unknown russian and defends against parodi (decent name) then gives up euro belt to fight a novice plodder like the guy on saturday.

im thinking that the 2 brothers moved to dave caldwell for the simple reason that his head is so far up eddies bum that they knew they could get the chance to be chief support on big ppv bills just with dave fluttering his eyes at mr hearn!!

eddie keep this average fighter off our ppv

I agree it's a poor cheif support but don't discredit his achievements he's getting better all the time and works like a Trojan

he gave up the british title after a draw with wale who he had beaten previously so not exactly getting better all the time lol

maybe i am just venting though but be honest with me when you see his name on a fight bill does it fill you with excitement? he might work hard but he is really just similar to matthew hatton, getting opportunities off the back of a talented brother :good oh and having his coach dave polish eddie's pole from time to time:hey

Crazy that those two were in a world title eliminator - particularly Sanchez

i just don't understand why you give up the euro title to fight a guy that doesn't teach you anything and wasn't even a final eliminator. unless your mando was a real live opponent! they are trying to cherry pick a way to a world title that gavin will inevitably lose because he just isn that good, i don't see any improvements with him since he hooked up with dave coldwell either.

He totally killed the atmosphere. I was there and everybody around me was saying the same.

No way should he be so high up the card, especially when he's in a guaranteed 12 round snoozefest.

The whole undercard was pretty bad considering it was PPV.

Was for the WBC Silver belt which I think should make him a mandatory for the full strap, so I can see the sense but I agree...he gained nothing from it (certainly not popularity) and I don't see him taking the world title in any way shape or form

they said in the commentary that it would cement his number 9 slot but wouldnt guarantee him a shot at the belt.

burton vs shinkwin should have been alot higher up the card. alot of people missed it. McDonnell is a hardworker, but is dull. Issac lowe was fighter of the night IMO

Yeah, having him as chief-support really lost the crowd. Not what you want before one of the biggest fights of the year. Poor organization really as you know what type of fight Gavin McDonnell is going to be in.

Tesco Joe needed enough time to tell quigg not to throw a punch that's why it was so low

All the money spent on Frampton and Quigg purses. Comon now, does anyone expect anything else from Hearn? But having Gavin McDonnell as chief support is a **** take.
