But right there the three sanctioning bodies recognized the guy. The 30s was a mess in terms of lineage I admit but technically he was recognized as the champion (for like three months ).

Read the the factoids on the link. The three sanctioning bodies were present. It wasn't a perfect claim (since there was no unification bout) nor it was for long (since Steele lost shortly after to Al Hostak) but technically, he was recognized as the champion.

Well if I use you definition of who is and isn't champion my list would be Les Darcy, Les Darcy, Les Darcy, les Darcy and Les Darcy with special mention to Dave Sands.

WELL HAVE A LOOK AT THIS THREAD he has gone fro top Ten Middleweight of all time in Ring magazine's 1975 list to being kicked out of at least the top 100 middleweights at least in this revisionist place.

That's got nothing to do with lineage.

I went through Bert Lytell v Darcy in another thread, in detail, first of all. You got an awful lot about Lytell wrong, and admitted it. Now you're calling him a "bum" again.

Second of all, Darcy DID have a claim to a belt. So calm yourself, he wouldn't even be on the same list as Lytell.

But yeah, you are right, the way YOU see Darcy is very very different to the way everyone else on here sees him.

Now, is there something wrong with the way you see him, or something wrong with the way everyone else sees him?

There IS something wrong with everyone else if they can't find a spot for Darcy in the top 100 middleweights, apparently none of the posters have even heard of him.......... Sure Lytell is better than I said but still not a great like Darcy. Like I said, Darcy was ranked at Ten in 1975 now he has been written out of history completely, while I am alive I need to try and rectify it...... and if he never existed then there has never been a fighter from Australia.

Was Burley in the ten then? Steele? We've learned a lot as a culture. Everyone here has heared of Darcy and i'd be stunned if anyone here had a top 100 list at MW. If anyone actually does, i'd be stunned if he wasn't in it.

Of course Darcy makes a top 100 at160lbs.
He doesn't make my top five uncrowned middleweights however, which is the question I asked.

As to Lytell being a ,"total bum?."He has wins over
    Charley Burley
    Cocoa Kid
    Holman Williams
    Jose Basora
    Oakland Billy Smith
They compare favourably with Darcy's best imo. If Lytell is a "total bum," what does that say about Darcy?
