Before a shocking chain of events revealed the truth to me:

Louis beat Walcott, who beat Charles, who beat Satterfield, who beat Valdes, who beat DeJohn, who beat Baker, who beat Chuvalo, who beat Quarry, who beat Shavers, who beat Norton, who beat Ali, who beat Foreman, who beat Everett Martin, who beat Tim Witherspoon, who beat Frank Bruno, who beat McCall, who beat Lewis, who beat Tua, who beat Nate Tubbs, who beat Corrie Sanders, who beat Waldo.

I hope this will change the minds of all doubters once and for all.

By that logic Rigondeaux beats Wlad.

Rigondeaux > Donaire > Simpiwe Vetyeka > Chris John > Juan Manuel Marquez > Pacquiao > Cotto > Sergio Martinez > Kelly Pavlik > Jermain Taylor > Bernard Hopkins > Antonio Tarver > Roy Jones Jr > John Ruiz > Hasim Rahman > Corrie Sanders > Wladimir Klitschko

    :D

I'd take Wlad over a lot of people. Either version, pre and post Steward, actually.

Skill + size + power = bad news.

    Now you're getting it. :good

If Wlad was around during Louis's day, his highlight would be as a warm up sparring partner.

You've tried that Nate Tubbs thread already, Piglist. It didn't work last time.

You have to do it in less than seven moves according to the rules of the game.

IMO Louis vs. Wlad is 50/50. Louis would need to start fast and end it early.

Wlad's jab would make Louis' head resemble a bobble head doll. Louis could not afford to take many right hands. Essentially Wlad was Schmeling 2.0 and then some. Louis wouldn't win the way Brewster ( taking a beating then coming on later ) did, it would have to be the way Sanders did.

Louis, because he's an accurate two-handed puncher with heart has his chances too. I just don't like his defense, footwork, or lack of size here. Louis prefer range was as an out fighter. That would not work here.

Somebody made an argument for Jimmy Wilde beating Mike Tyson once via a similar chain of reasoning.

I largely agree here. Wlad's dimensions are part of the problem for most boxers and he fights very well to exploit his size. Louis would face the same problems as everybody else, especially because, as you said, he likes a fight at range which is Wlad's specialty. However Louis could still do well given his power and technical excellence. I see Louis early or Wlad late / UD.

At 110 pounds or less, I'm picking Jimmy :)
