WBC have been quite active on Twitter last day or so saying that if a catchweight can't be agreed then they won't force a fighter to be below 160, so it'll be interesting to see what they do should it come to that. If Canelo isn't comfortable at 160, that's cool. It doesn't matter. Fight at a weight your comfortable at. I think everyone agrees the only issue is then holding a belt intended for guys who normally fight at 160
So you're saying that It's Golovkin's fault that not landing fights with Martinez and Cotto? Did he duck them or anything? And btw, Lemieux' achievements @160 is pretty much on par with Khan's achievements @147, maybe even better.
I like his you preface MW didn't this guy say anybody from 3 division him back tracking when getting called out is a duck in itself, I think IMO he dodge the Cotton and Canelo fight, how do you claim noone wants to fight you then side step your shot over and over that's a damn duck in my book. Ducked Lara and Ward like the plague this dude is an entertaining joke.
He was never in position to fight Martinez, and when put in position he side stepped Cotti twice that is his fault. Also Khans win over Alexander alone is better than any win in Lemiuex's career David has never fought a too fighter so he certainly has no wins over one.
That is EXACTLY my point Alex . While in Texas I knew many proud Mexican fighters. They would fight Godzilla before allowing anyone to call them El Pollo Chicken Coward etc IF he lets Oscar dictate to him then he IS a coward C'mon Alex it was MEXICAN fight fans that gave him the name El Pollo. Tell you what I'd like to hear Antonio Margarito's opinion of him ROFLMAO
He took a step aside but he's still mandated and trying to force the fight through, so I don't really see how that equates to a duck. Lara's team have never offered a fight to Golovkin's team. Whoever runs Lara's Twitter account tweets Golovkin's (AFTER he announced the Wade fight, might I add)...that's not an offer, that's just nonsense. The Ward one is different. I don't think Ward's team actually offered them a contract either (although if I'm wrong then please let me know as I haven't seen anything to say otherwise) but then it wasn't Ward who called him out. It got talked about a bit and the fight was offered to Ward at 164, which he rejected. If you want to bring up "but GGG said 154-168" then remember Ward said 160 for Mayweather. I honestly think both fighters would have been fine fighting at either of the weights but their promoters etc advise against it.
I also agree, I don't think Canelo deep down is against the fight at 160 or anything but that GBP are effectively putting him off and telling him what to say
Why was he not in the position to fight Martinez? He did call him out, are you saying that he didn't deserve it as much as Martin Murray or Matthew Macklin did? And as for Cotto, had he not agreed to step aside and forced him to drop the title, he'd be getting criticized by the very same people for choosing to fight a "bum" instead of waiting for a big name to fight. Not to mention he'd never get a shot at the lineal title. Yes, Alexander has that win over Maidana but his recent loss to journeyman Alexander made it clear for me that he's p4p no better than Hassan N'dam
Paddy do you really believe a word Suliaman & the WBC say ? Jr is just as big a crook as his Daddy. They don't want GGG to bet to be unified undisputed champion They want a MEXICAN champion. That's why they haven't done the right thing & stripped Canelo. Your scenario is right title fights should he at designated weight limits. If Canelo wants to come in at 155 that's his choice as long as his opponent is 160 or under LETS GET IT ONE !!!!!!!!!
Bro has been stepping aside for 2 years at what point are we gonna call it what it is. If I call out Mayweather and say he's scared I'll beat him then duck out when its on the table that sh!t is a duck. The Lara situation is ridiculous as well somehow if GGG says your name is on you to go out of your way to fight him and if you say his name you still have to go out of your way. Everybody knows Lara has been calling him out andvthem boys at K2 came up with excuses. The Ward fight is the same as well everyone talks big til there actually addressed, Kovalev took the exact same deal GGG fans were crying about. Come on nobodies gets this many excuses at some point the onus is on the fighter. Everybody is msd a Canelo who said way before the Cotton fight he planned on staying a JMW for awhile. Yet the only reason he even has the title is because the so called most feared boxers keeps passing up the opportunity.
cannot do it can you?? Now publically apologize for lying about GGG . GGG has NEVER ducked a LEGITIMATE challenge
Dude the Cotto situation is a duck GTFOH call me when GGG stops stepping aside and actually fights somebody. Why is Canelo-Khan taking place right now, because Mr .Most feared keep side stepping and ducking out. There is no honor in that, y'all bash Canelo but at least he takes fights ppl say he won't, Golovkin is what's wrong with the sport getting praised for beating bums and always having a reason why a top fight can't happen. Canelo ain't even fought at or vs a MW yet he's ducking meanwhile ask GGG to move up even a pound and watch the reaction you get.
I has a reply but it didn't save, long story short, Macklin & Murray were fighting better comp at the time, Undisputed> or =Lineal, Alexander>>>Lemieux, and GGG has had chances for a big fight turned em down, also has had chances to fight for Lineal passed em up.
So, you're saying that when one side offers step aside money to the other side to fight someone else, the side that accepts to step aside is the one who's ducking out? And answer this, had he not agreed to step aside and forced Cotto/Canelo to drop the WBC title(if the corruption in WBC allowes that), then how was he supposed to get his shot at the lineal title? And let's suppose he enforced his mando status and forced Cotto/Canelo to drop the title and fought someone else for it, then like I said above, the exact same people would be criticizing for choosing to fight a "bum" for the title instead of waiting for a big name to fight.
They really weren't fighting better comp at the time, GGG had a win over ring rated top10 MW at the time, Murray and Macklin didn't. Murray's last two opponents had a combined 25 wins and Macklin was coming off of a loss. And for me Hassan N'dam> or at least =Alexander but we'll have to agree to disagree on that.
