You are right Frampton did win easily. However, it was not because he was at a different level to Quigg. It was because Quigg didn't do much in the first half of the fight. Frampton took advantage and nicked the rounds being the aggressor and landing a few jabs.

    This.

Those early, close rounds were won by Carl by default because of Scott's ridiculously low output, rather than by Carl outclassing Scott.

Does it mean that Carl is streets ahead of Scott in talent? No. But, Scott's awful game plan mixed with nerves made Carl win the fight relatively easily.

I think it well known Carl is streets ahead in talent, that is not questionable

the only reason why ppl gave Quigg a shot in the first place was every reason apart from talent

Well it is questionable as people had it a close fight despite the Quigg slow start.

The Frampton fanatics are talking like he gave Quigg a good hiding in the 1st 6 rounds when in fact he was just content on trying to knick the rounds. Plus whilst Quigg's tactics were baffling he was making Frampton miss.

Frampton won the fight but it wasn't a 10-2 12-0 fight like a lot of blindly fanatical idiots claim.

It was a close fight with Carl knocking the early rounds and Quigg winn8ng down the stretch.

I thought it was a 7-5 type fight.

im yet to see anyone say it was 12-0 or 10-2....

Imo i think 8-4 is correct and believe me not one person inside the arena at any stage thought Quigg was winning the fight

I think the fact Frampton came out in the 12 and decisively won that round shows he was boxing to a specific gameplan once he knew he had the first 6 in the bag

but this debate will go on and on, what will show us who the better fighter is is time, where will they both be in 2 years? how will they be considered once they have retired?

Quigg has alot of work to do

When they finally went at it in the final 1/3rd it was clear that Quigg was the stronger man

    Thats not what i seen.

Quiggs inactivity in the early rounds was the main reason Frampton won the fight.

Frampton won most of his rounds by default, besides the 12th it was more a case of Quigg giving the rounds away.

    Quigg won his rounds clearly.

With reference to punching power, Quigg may have a broken jaw, but he never looked remotely concerned by Framptons power, Frampton meanwhile, was shook several times, and lost his senses momentarily after the right hand in the 11th.

I'm happy to accept that Frampton won the fight, but he never outclassed anybody, and there was no gulf in talent visible in any of the 12 rounds.

I've seen a few 10-2 cards bandyed about TerryTibbs is one of them.

What I'm is clear is both fighters get dominated by Rigo.

I agree that both did little early on.
Frampton was moving his arms which I think is what many scored for, but didnt land anymore than quigg i dont think.

I scored for quigg by 2 rounds, but understand how some looking to make a definate 10/9 round would score for someone pushing out a jab even if it doesnt land

    Edit

I would note that Quigg should have looked busier and Im surprised he didnt when he wasnt busy enough previously and got a draw rather than a win. Wouldnt have thought they would have made that mistake again

Wrong, quigg did nothing, frampton did very little, but he won the first 7 with that tiny bit of activity alone.

Amen. Totally agree. Quigg beat frampton up in the later rounds.frampton got the nod on even rounds by missing more. Scoring is scoring that's life. Barry will make out it was easy work and all the Irish will believe him. At no point was quigg in trouble. I'm not surprised quigg was shocked when he was told he was so far down on sky card. What will happen now is Barry telling the world that rigo is boring and that quigg doesn't deserve a rematch. Luckily I think quigg is improving and Shane's not doing much with Carl. When they meet again it will be a different story

And just for the record where on earth was framptons "boxing clinic". Quigg always starts slow he did it against Kiko in the first round and I don't think he will ever change in that sense. All framptons camp talked about was the clinic they were going to put on and how much more talent he had. Also they said the key to winning was they could adjust. I didn't see them adjusting when Carl was getting beaten up they spent most of the late rounds struggling to adjust to quiggs " one dimensional" style. I'm am so disappointed in this fight because I genuinely believe the better man didn't win and going to have to wait years for quigg to get chance to avenge while I listen to the mcguigans drone on about how easy it was.
