And when Teddy Atlas falls out of love with a fighter, the results can be ugly. For example, Atlas wrote in his book, Atlas: From the Streets to the Ring, that he actually wanted to kill his former charge, the Canadian boxer Donny “Golden Boy” Lalonde, after their partnership ended at Lalonde’s request. Atlas admits that he took a gun and waited outside of the fighter’s apartment in New York City with the intention of gunning him down. Luckily for Lalonde, he wasn’t home at the time.

“If he had opened the door, he was dead. I would have pulled the trigger, turned around, and walked away,” Atlas wrote.

According to Fightnews Canada, Lalonde later called Atlas a “certifiable nutcase” who “got into fights with trainers and fighters quite a bit when I was with him.”

“He may not be the most stable person walking around,” Lalonde added.

Yes, of course, Shannon Briggs is there and they weren't scared of him. But they were "terrified" of Teddy Atlas.:patsch

When the ret@rded guy gets out of the car screaming "I'm a motherf*cker!" Most people tend to back away.

“Mike Tyson’s a phony; he was a phony from the very beginning,” says Atlas, now 57. “A phony from the day he was born; and you can’t say he was forced to be one. Maybe he was forced to be a survivor, but it’s not so much survivor than, can you manipulate?

“When he was a kid, he would hide (from his Brooklyn enemies) in between walls of buildings. I don’t think he ever came out from between those walls; I don’t think he ever broke the habit of hiding. He found a haven between those walls. Later, when he wanted to give you something meaningful, he gave it to you in that lisp of a voice.

“Once, he was Darth Vader, telling everyone, “I’m going to eat your children.” Those were his words, not his thoughts. He’s a complicated guy, but also a simple guy. A phony. The undisputed truth is that he never tells the truth, but if you gave him a polygraph test, he’d probably pass it. That’s how he is. That’s how he reinvented himself.”

Like I said real recognizes real. Only a wuss from the burbs would find a big playful clown like Briggs more intimidating than an OG like Teddy. :patsch

KEEP IN MIND that guy was never a fighter. He's not punchy.

If you went to Thanksgiving at your aunt's house and your cousin Teddy sat next to you on the couch. And he got really close and started talking to you like Teddy in that video ... about the people in the group home he lives at ... you'd say, "That's nice, Teddy. I need to go get some pie."

Atlas is slow. Everyone who works with him picks up on that fairly quickly. And THEY ALL cut him loose.

There is too much hype but even so, just from watching him you could see he was a different fighter after jail. When he was up and coming his speed was unreal for a heavyweight - in his latter days he didn't throw combinations anywhere near as he did when he was young.

Teddy couldn't run a cartel. Hell, he couldn't get a job at the hospital his dad started.

    :lol::roll:

And if an old punchy fighter was getting into it with people at a diner ... like Teddy seems to be doing in that video ... you'd say, "That poor slurring man just got hit in the head too many times."

What's Atlas' excuse? His wealthy dad didn't leave him enough money so he's got to pick fights with people at Dennys?

Even boxers (who actually came from the streets) are embarrassed by Atlas. Atlas is the guy who isn't loyal. He takes the credit when they win and he throws them under the bus when they lose.

He's been doing it for 20-plus years.

    :yep

I have connections to the Underworld and even I wouldn't call Tyson a phony. The guy is extremely unstable and prone to violent mood swings and he is totally fearless. The only reason Teddy isn't afraid to publicly mock Tyson like that is because he is even more fearless than that loon Tyson is. That's why he's a real OG. :deal

Atlas comes across as a complete fantasist in his books and on screen. I mean come on, look at him half pushing Foreman. Foreman would murder him with one punch, and we all know it.

Now all the reporters are scared of Atlas? Right. Right.

Teddy Atlas being "slow" isn't exactly a secret.

Like I said, when he first came around, most thought he was a guy who had been in too many fights and took too many beatings. There are a lot of guys in boxing like that.

And, for some odd reason, people still assume that.

When they meet him, and learn his background, and find out he doesn't talk like that because he got hit too much. And they see how he acts. And how limited his abilities are as a trainer. They figure out in short order that he just isn't very bright.

It's not like people think he's a "gangster" or they're afraid he's going to beat them up. Name one reporter Atlas ever beat up? (There aren't any.)

Most people in boxing are interested in fighting other guys who are good. Most aren't interested in getting into it with "slow" Teddy.

I'm done with him now. Guy's a clown. The only reason he hates Teddy is because he's a Tyson nut-hugger and the only reason his lips are clamped onto Tyson's nuts is because he's a ******. He's also a Deontay Wilder hugger too, who also likes to bash up womenz. :patsch

How am I a Tyson fan? I've cheered every time he's lost.

Everything I've said here about Atlas is true.

If you don't want to believe it, that's on you.
