Yes and no really. The participants are fully aware of the "rules" and as sentient beings they can do what they want, at least as far as I am concerned. I'm sure plenty of folks think Boxing is brutal, but it remains my favourite sport and it makes me feel like nothing else. I was just sharing an opinion babe, perhaps you'd like to know my favourite breakfast cereal?
So much for all the "boxing beats MMA" rubbish. Styles make fights, and to be fair I still think Ronda Rousey largely beat Ronda Rousey in that fight with Holly Holm, too much arrogance there and by the time she realised her folly the damage was done.
Got his panties in a wad? Why do people love to attribute an emotional state to text that they read online? If we are going to play that game then i would suggest that you were the one who was upset, judging by what you wrote. Whilst i may not agree with Boxwrecker, this persons post appeared calm and well written, were as you felt the need to swear in your reply, giving the impression that you had lost your cool.
You can tell who didn't see the fight by their comments. Meesha Tate looked lost and confused in every round except round 2. Going into the 5th her own corner & boyfriend was telling her she needed a finish to win. Hell, Meesha was well on her way to losing the 5th with only about 2min left to go. Props to Meesha for hangin and in and never giving up but her reign wont be long. She's just a headstrong trailhorse. She'd lose a rematch with Holm and get smashed by any version of Ronda.
All three judges scored the 2nd round 10-8 for Tate and she was on her way to winning the 5th on the strength of the groundwork and 2 deep sub attempts so it would most likely have been a draw even if Holm miraculously escaped the choke.
That's if Holm can avoid being taken down and submitted in a 25 min fight which given her lack of grappling ability is doubtful
Meesha lost the majority of round 5 dude. Watch the fight again. Holm controlled all but 1 minute and 30 seconds of the whole fight up to the finish
