I like this fight, Ward has basically tread water since beating Dawson and really did little after seeming to be a big star after beating Froch his career really has fizzled and not gone anywhere near the possibilities. I guess 2016-2017 can change all that with Kovalev or Golovkin fights

 

Nothing but big fights for Ward this year and next.
I hate to look forward pass Barrera, but I wonder who it is Ward will meet in his second tune up before Kovalev.
Hopefully, the amateur promotion company Roc Nation is negotiating with them now to get it lined up properly. Maybe he can coax Beterbiev or Fonfara out. If he beats up Fonfara badly then everyone will be calling for a Ward-Stevenson fight. :yep

Barrera has some pop in his hands, decent but not great speed and skill wise hes a bit robotic imho. I think Ward schools him easily. Dont think he gets the ko but puts a serious beat down on Barrera.

 

I'm not excited about seeing Ward vs Pascal.
Jean needs a long vacation after the ass whipping Kovalev put on him and I wouldn't be surprised if those two fights take their toll on Pascal.

Pascal needs to find a good trainer and spend the next year of two rebuilding his skills.
Ward - Pascal would be a one sided blow out. :yep

 

This is the way I see the fight going too.
It's a shame to see Barrera have to take a one sided loss so early in his career, but maybe it will result in him making post fight improvements.

Ward Vs Fonfara, then

Ward Vs Kovalev, and

If Ward wins all these fights it would make Ward P4P #1 and Ward Vs Stevenson a mega fight for unification.

If I was Kovalev I wouldn't fight Ward. I'd tell him to go fight Adonis first and is he wins then he can come see Kovalev. :yep
