Yeah Margarito's only signature win, was over cotto who was beating the brakes off of him until he gassed (like he was known to do). Mayweaher aint gassing. It would have been one of his easier fights. Too bad Arum blocked the fight but they don't want to hear that fact either.

 

Floyd fans showing an awful lot of disrespect to Margarito. If Margarito sucks so much then why is his win over undefeated Cotto better than anything Mayweather has ever done?

 

:nono This is a big misconception. Mayweather actually showed that he had barely lost a step from his earlier welterweight days vs Canelo. We were all in awe of his speed. Mayweather fought Maidana straight after.
Styles make fights. This is what people don't understand. Margarito throws so many more punches and is the bigger, stronger man than Maidana.

To Mayweather's credit, he's avoided wars, fought twice a year and it is argued he doped efficiently, too.

Since it hasn't been said, Margarito is FULL of dirty tricks, too and has a higher ring IQ than Maidana.

The other point is that Margarito does not gas out.

The welterweight Mayweather is the worst version of Mayweather, but since we're talking about a welterweight matchup, we couldn't possibly judge Mayweather based on his younger days in the lower weight classes.

 

It would have been it would have looked a lot like PBF-Baldo but probably worse because Baldo was actually a better boxer than Margo was.
