Antonio Margarito Would Have Castillo'd Floyd Much, Much Worse Than Castillo Did...

Do you really think the Maidana of the Ortiz and Alexander fights was same guy who fought Mayweather? Maidana improved under Robert Garcia by utilizing better defense, more lateral movement, a more persistent jab, and more feints. Yes, he still had wide punching technique but his awkwardness mixed with some skill caused trouble for Floyd. Margarito is taller than Maidana, punches more compact, and is more relentless. The problem is that Margarito was easy to hit and tends to "walk through the front door" making him a more predictable target. Does he make Floyd earn his rounds? Absolutely.

Margarito was definitely bigger, stronger and more relentless than Castillo. You say that Castillo was only a little quicker than Margarito but I also found Castillo to be the much more educated pressure fighter than Margarito. Castillo had better defense, better timing, he cut the ring better, and he was a sharper puncher as well.

Funny how you omit any information that does not suit your agenda.

What people like you fail to realize is that he's not gong to be throwing 100 punches a round because PBF isn't going to be in range enough for him to do so.:deal When was the last time you've seen someone throw that many punches against PBF? He usually holds guys to a career low output and connect % for a reason. Margo is too slow he would get beat to the punch and countered over and over losing rounds in the process. Sure he would take punishment but so what that leads to his eye either getting swollen or cuts.

PBF can move, his foot speed footwork and reflexes are light years ahead of Margo's. He will fight off his back foot and Margo is too slow of foot to cut the ring off against him. Why can't people like you see this and act like it's not a factor? PBF will dictate range and tempo of this fight he will be the ring general the fight will be fought in the middle of the ring for the most part. Another factor is that Margo is a slow starter it takes him 5 or 6 rounds to even get in a fight do you actually think Margo would beat PBF after PBF was up 5 or 6 rounds to 0? Remember PBF doesn't fade and usually is even better and harder to hit as the fight goes on. Margo is a plodder and quite frankly not that good find me an educated pressure fighter and we can talk not a limited uneducated pressure fighter with no jab and plodding feet like Margo.

PBF is a stylistic nightmare for Margo and honestly I don't think he loses a round to him. Your argument makes no sense 100 punches a around against a guy who has some of the best defense in history who's known to hold guys to career low output and connect % it would be funny to watch PBF hit him with flush right hands and counters while Margo swung at air more most of the night with that stupid grin on his face, easy work.

Be real, Mayweather was stunned, but he was far from being stopped vs Mosley.
As I mentioned a post ago, Mosley is one of those types that headhunts and is weary of the counter. In other words, he doesn't like getting hit, which is why he was so shy to let his hands go vs Mayweather and Pacquiao for that matter.
The countershot isn't going to stop Margarito's forward progress. Margarito is going to bring it and I don't see Mayweather being brave enough to put a stop to it.

Margo ate he same shot mosley landed on mayweather GET THIS FOR 9 ROUNDS BEFORE EVEN SHOWING SIGNS HE WAS HURT

Mayweather took one flush shot from a shot old mosley who was RBT tested and was out on his feet

Margo was eating the same shot 300 plus and for 9 rounds

One of the reasons why Margarito is legendary. Amazing how much of a boss he was.

Who has Mayweather faced that doesn't mind getting hit?
That right there is the reason why fighters like Pacquiao, Mosley, and others drop there output against Mayweather, they don't want to get hit with that sharp counter, and Mayweather can put some sting into it if he has to.
Against Margarito though, you need to bring more than sting, you have to ****ing bring it or he's going to just roll over you.

Cotto fought an excellent fight the 1st six rounds vs Margarito, but he started to fade and Margarito wasn't. Despite getting repeatedly hit with clean shots, Margarito wasn't being fazed from continueing to bring it.
Doubt very seriously Mayweather could be as busy as Cotto was vs Margarito, and if you're not busy enough against a volume puncher like Margarito, you're going to be losing rounds even though Mayweather may not be getting hit square and effectively.

Activity will usually win out over inactivity, especially when the difference in output between the fighters is great.

Mayweather would not have been able to stop Margarito's forward progress, and Margarito would not have shy'd away from throwing punches even in the face of getting hit with return fire.

With Mayweather's history of brittle hands, I wouldn't be surprised he'd hurt them badly on Margarito hard head that he'd have to stop throwing punches completely.

It's not about stopping forward progress it's about scoring points and wining rounds. PBF would land the cleaner and harder blows would be the ring general the judges favor accuracy and harder shots than activity landing nothing of note and coming forward, that's ineffective aggression, see PBF-Oscar for reference. This fight would be fought at PBF's tempo. Margo being able to take punches is irrelevant just like Baldo's ability to take punches was when he fought PBF. He couldn't land enough on PBF to score points and win rounds despite him having a iron jaw and coming forward. Not to mention Margo isn't some devastating puncher if he was he wouldn't need to have as high of a workrate as he does.

You still haven't addressed how Margo is going to get to PBF enough. Cotto's footwork while good is no where as good as PBF not to mention his stamina defense and chin are far worse. He also has short arms so it was harder for him to score without taking a bigger risk. PBF doesn't have those issues he's longer more accurate than Cotto and makes better adjustments to. I don't think PBF could miss with his straight right as wide open as Margo is.

The only point you and I agree on is PBF's hands I could see him hurting his hands like he did against Baldo from landing so flush so many times, he could be in some danger if that happened but then again that's worst case scenario for him. If he doesn't hurt his hands Margo doesn't have a prayer.

margarito cheated...who is on his resume besides cotto? and this was using plaster of paris.
clottey broke his hand on him and still made it close.
williams (Who Carlos Quintana beat) outworked him
cintron was another that margarito might have cheated against
but if he didn't ...no big deal. kermit was no top level fighter.
what elite, or at least top shelf fighter is on margarito's resume as a win?

"Margarito aims for anything above the waist. Missection, arms, elbows, shoulders, etc."
    this is untrue.
