See him getting alot of stick for it, we knew there was more chance of him boxing Triple H then Triple G but is Bursak a complete can? I haven't seen him box so no idea of his abilities and there is talk of a big Stadium fight in the summer for Billy Joe, is this Eubank Jr rematch?
It not terrible there have been many that are far worse. (ie just about anyone Wilder has fought) but he's no wold beater. Euro level at best. Short slighty stock fighter who comes in behind a jab to pressure. Very left hand dominant jabs and left hooks with only the odd right hand mixed in. Hes competent. Hes beaten some OK domestic fighters in Aaron and Blackwell and others like Khomitsky and Vera. Id expect BJS to just outskill and confuse him he looks hittable so a points win looks fairly certain cause Bursak is no puncher. I dont blame him for swerving Golvokin for a little bit really. Hes a new champ and its a short career take the Bursak fight and then maybe a CEJ fight win both of then he will a made some decent money then he can take golovkin on....There are people who have been at the top of the divison longer than BEJ who want no part of Golovkin
Agree with this assessment. He's alright but has 0 business fighting for a world title, which is my personal issue with it. Lemieux took GGG on as his first defense, no real reason why BJS couldn't do that. Especially for a career high payday. A loss to GGG - especially at his age - does no damage to you career wise imo
Yeah I agree mate, he should look to box GGG at the end of 2017 when he has made some money and established himself as a world champion. The thing with BJS is it is unlikely he would ever be able to move up to smw and do well as he is a tiny middleweight, so he needs to milk all the money he can make at 160.
Another p*iss poor fight for the UK fans-PPV events that suck and main event bouts that are one sided. The true stars in the UK appear to be the super salesman like Fast Car and Sky TV.:deal
Pretty bad. I can't understand why this is even allowed, knowing that Max isn't even ranked in the WBO top15. With Wilders defenses they at least made a game out of it. Who is the most undeserving guy in the WBC top 15, that's Wilder's next opponent. In this case BJ's management and the WBO didn't even bother to put up a show. They just picked a "teak tough" guy out of a lineup to be served up as cannon fodder.
Durable.. never been stopped.. a toughish defence.. This guy tried to do a Povetkin on Jarrod Fletcher.. but the ref told him to stop in the first round..
Some on here might agree Saunders stopped Fletch too early.. the ones intolerant to British stoppages.. But Fletcher/Jacobs was stopped early too.. although Fletch burst his eardrum early in the fight.. but it's not as if the likes of Carl Froch hasn't fought through burst eardrums through fights before.. Alot might agree with the Saunders one.. but it actually happened with Jacobs too.. With Geale he hurt his leg.. and had to hang on for 12 rounds.. no complaints there.. he woulda lost if it was 15 rounds.. because of..
The GGG fight will still be there in 18 months if BJS is still champion. There's absolutely nothing wrong with building yourself up as a credible and believable World Champion first, rather than just a holder of one of many World Titles that seem to be given out with cereal boxes these days.
