This D.C local boy Lloyd Scaife ****ed up. He had it 48-47 at the time of the stoppage, the other 2 judges had it 50-43.
Third round, where Ortiz scored a KD, he had 10-9 Thompson :patsch

Sad thing is this happens all the time. And many people try to put it on just incompetence and/or something incidental, while we see these homecooked scorecards in so many fights.
The PBC and former FNF cards are plagued with scorecards like this. Some fighters even made a very decent career out of it, like legal robbery.

I had Tony winning the third round as well, but he got dropped in the last second so that was certainly a 10-8 round. One other round, don't remember if it was second, 4th or 5th round was also close, but it really should have been 50-43 or 49-44 on every scorecard.

Scaife scored round 1 a 10-9 for Ortiz even though Thompson was knocked down (Jenkins and Wallace had it 10-8 Ortiz). As if that wasn't enough, Ortiz knocked Thompson down again in round 3 as the bell sounded, but Scaife scored the round 10-9 in Thompson's favor! The only way that's ever justified is if Thompson had dominated the other 2:59 of the round, but he didn't, so it should've been a 10-8. Round 5, which the other two judges had for Ortiz, was given to Thompson by Scaife. Knockdown #3 in round 6 ended the fight so no scoring was needed.

Where was commission to investigate judge that scored Canelo Lara 117 111, or Rios vs Abril judges where Rios won 3 rounds at best etc, it would be great if they actually suspended all these bribed judges...

The problem here is, that it's so hard to prove and often it seems like judges do it to get chosen next time around (extra income), and get things like upgraded hotelrooms and s__t like that. Which of course is a form of indirect bribery, but like with politics, an allowed version.
Then you just have the biased judges that score the way they want the fight to go, mostly with their countryman/favorite winning, like you see here on the forum as well. Like that Sweethome_bama dude from a couple years back.
Direct briberies don't happen too often I think, but in some cases like that CJ Ross caracter with so many draw cards and decisions going the complete opposite way, you'd expect that she was bribed by casino's or big gamblers to change the outcome to an unlikely result.
but that too is very hard to prove.

How could it be a 10/8 on your card if Tony won 2 mins 59 seconds of the round ? Thats means without the last second kd it'd 10/9 Thompson.

A kd is 1 point, not 2. So it would give ortiz the point meaning 10/9 not 10/8

I had the round for Tony (10-9), until he got knocked down. So it became a 10-8 round for Ortiz in stead of 10-9 for Thompson.

If you knock your opponent down, you're winning the round in my opinion by 10-8...

Wait, if Thompson really won the third round, and you gave it to him, then wouldn´t it be a 10-10 round because of the knockdown?
10 point must system and Ortiz gets an point due to scoring a knockdown.
How the f does one end with 10-9 for Thompson?
    Clearly a case of incompetence.

I think American fighters are so paranoid about fighting abroard simply because of the problems with corruption in the U S A ... The irony.

This a big flaw in boxing right now. A knockdown should not mean that you won the round. A knockdown gives you an extra point.
So if you clearly win the round but get knocked down, then it should not end with a 3 point swing in favour of your opponent. It´s insane.
Of course if you get dropped hard, and are truly hurt, you probably lose the round.

    Yep.
Can you imagine what would have happened with Matthysse vs Garcia if they didn't have that 3 point swing round?

I hear you, but I think every judge gives instantly a 10-8 round in stead of a 10-10 round or something.

In this case, Thompson won the third round, but by a very small margin. The knockdown was enough to change the score with a 3 point swing.
