This has to be the knock against Mayweather when his greatness is reviewed. He hasn't got a single victory of a prime HOF fighter and he seems to have missed fights against the people like Williams and Margarito who would have caused him problems.
Fact is: Margarito was always and always will be a B tier level fighter and would have been shut out by May. May chose the historically better fight in Baldomir, who was the lineal champion, then went on to do much bigger things in ODLH/Hatton, 2 fighters that were much much better than Wraparito! It's fact!
A prime Tony Margs would have probably been Mayweathers greatest win. Taking into account that he's bigger than Castillo and Corrales, beating Tony Margs would have been Mayweather's greatest achievement.
Castillo was a much better fighter than Wraparito and it's really not close. Margarito is one of the most overrated fighters of all time and he got beaten up by Mosley, which was one of the biggest poetic justices of all time. Floyd beat a prime Hatton, prime Pacquiao, prime Corrales, Castillo x2, an undefeated Cotto (Tbh), undefeated primed Canelo Alvarez and many others.
No but they were the young hungry lions at that time. Plus they would be better than Corley, Brussels and Mitchell. Me personally, I think Floyd would beat Margarito but he would be made to fight. I would rather of seen the Williams fight.
OP must be talking about a alternate universe or something cause from 07-09 Margarito got his ass kicked by Pwill and then Mosley made him his bottom b!**h. Mayweather had to come along and school Margarito's daddy for him.:bbb
