I keep on hearing this, "Prime" Tyson would demolish .................... < ----- insert boxer.

So I've been looking at old Tyson videos..

February 25th 1989 v Frank Bruno (WBA, WBC, IBF, Ring, Lineal Heavyweight Title)
Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

    [yt]sXXgY4qsZYI[/yt]

Notice the lack of head movement that Tyson was known for. Yes, Tyson got him out of there. But it looks like a missed opportunity for Frank Bruno who rocked Tyson, and decided to hold rather than fight.

This version of Tyson would lose to either of the Klitschkos. Yeah, the 1989 version of Mike Tyson.

So what was a "prime Tyson" in your opinion? Did this "prime Tyson" only have a 2 year window?

Klitsckos would never beat Tyson on his best day.

    He demolishes both of them.

Regarding the question, Tysons 'peak' was 86-88.

Once he fired his long time trainer, his performances began to slip.

As evident in the aforementioned Bruno fight.

"Prime Tyson" coincides with him fighting the worst crop of HW contenders in a while. Suddenly, Tyson stopped being prime as soon as he stepped up in the quality of opposition :deal

Holyfield vs Tyson in 1991 would have been a better fight then the one they had in 1996.

    Holyfield beats Tyson 10/10 times.

Tysons opposition was no different to any of the other greats except Ali and Louis.

Except Vitali, his opposition was goddawful.

Tyson was coked up, partied and had intercourse the NIGHT before the fight.
    Loose cannon he was.

Tyson said to Douglas before the fight, 'You cant fight, you're ****ed'.

You wouldn't say any of these cheap excuses had Douglas stayed down in the 9th after being brutally knocked down by Tyson. You'd say "Yea Tyson was prime vs. Douglas, look he stopped him!".

But Douglas got up (with a long count), caught a second wind and knocked the living daylights out of Tyson in the following round. And now all of a sudden Mike wasn't prime anymore and he was coked up :rofl:rofl

He was in his prime. He wasn't at his absolute peak.

Peak and prime are two different things.

Douglas beat a prime Tyson. No one makes excuses for Douglas in any of his losses. We don't go saying oh Douglas was this or Douglas was that, we just say he lost. Tyson got his ass beaten from pillar to post. I am a huge Tyson fan but it just wasn't his night.

What the fack, when you're at your PEAK there's no opportunity to be more prime.

I think you meant, ones age and prime are 2 different things

On the contrary, Tyson was known for being one of, if not the best at slipping jabs.

Douglas didn't win the fight on just jab alone.
