I've always felt that the Ruddock of five years earlier would have beaten the Morrison who he ACTUALLY met in 1995. Donoven was a then career high 244 lbs and had only fought once in the previous 3 years against a journeyman who weighed 290 and had no skill or power. He still managed to deck Tommy and was fairly close on the cards when he fell victim to what I believe was an early stoppage. This fight catapulted Morrison into a meeting with Lennox Lewis later that fall.

Ruddock of 1990 by early KO for sure. A SHOT Ruddock almost knocked Morrison out.

Ruddock is going to get dropped though. Careless, smashhappy etc. Still good fight.

Ruddock just needs to touch that face once

1990 Ruddock would have beaten 1995 Morrison

In 1995, Morrison was past prime, but not as much as Ruddock.

Prime for prime, say 1990 Ruddock v. 1993 Morrison, I think Razor wins, too.

    I think Ruddock wins, too.

People usually forget though that Morrison was also past prime. He was destroyed by Bentt and then struggled to get a draw vs Purrity.

Ruddock from 89-91 had confidence at all time high, so he likely would go through everything and even gets up from KD's if he gets caught, to stop Morrison later.

When was his prime? He was only 26 when he fought Razor.

Morrison's prime was prior to his brutal KO loss to Michael Bentt.

He should've lost to Purrity shortly before the Ruddock fight.

I also thought the stoppage was a bit premature. Ruddock had Morrison hurt just as bad in that fight. Not a terrible stoppage but one of those where other refs would have let it go on. Anyway, a younger Ruddock does what the older Ruddock nearly did and KOs Morrison.

Morrison had slowed down at this point. No longer dynamic.
