Indeed, just rewatched the Ward farce. Anywhere but the states and Ward would have been thrown out for his blatant cheating. Now all the American boys act like that was some kind of legit win and not tainted at all by biased refereeing 😂😂😂

    Could be.

Mikkel Kessler on the other hand was a good fighter.

There's no doubt that Jack Reiss is an incompetent referee. But if your getting elbowed and head butted all night and the ref does nothing then you fight dirty as well. By round 7 Kessler should have started punching Ward in the nuts because he damn well knew he wasn't going to win that fight either way. I hate when fighters complain of being fouled after the fight is over but do nothing about it when its happening.

Ward had to go in the ring with his bodyguard Jack Reiss against this guy. And he was medicated by Victor Conte for that fight. Not a bum.

Over and over again huh? You won't count more than two accidental head clashes and that's a fact. Which came mid way through a fight Kessler was being totally dominated and had no chance of winning.
He used the cut as an excuse to go home early.

Ward on the other hand suffered a similar cut from a savage Miranda head butt in round ONE

Where was this mythical Oakland protection that night?

The guy that hates Wlad because of his hugging and holding defends Ward in a match that he hugged Kessler over 80 times. Such a hypocrite.

There were more than 2 headbutts, I recall 5 or 6 blatant ones, maybe you need to watch it again.

This might seem strange but a prime Mundine at 168lbs back in 2005 could barely win a rd from an injured Kessler in Sydney, that same Mundine completely schooled DAnny Green and knocked out Sam Soliman in the next 18months after the Kessler loss.

Mikkel was incredible when fit in his prime, he fought Froch well after his best years.

I was there that night in Cardiff. It was an epic atmosphere. I was stood next to what seemed like the only Danish fans there who kept on shouting "go Mik-kel!!!"

thing about mikki was he was ok to fight others abroad, but they often didn't want to face him in his backyard.

I feel bad for the way he was ahead of joe until his hand gave in, but joe knew he had got lucky and he would probably have lost to 2 armed Kessler so he ran away from a rematch in Denmark to another division entirely.

Kessler was an elite. Perhaps not a strong one, but one nevertheless. With two hands he was good enough to beat Calzaghe in Cardiff, and good enough to beat froch back home in Denmark.

Ward switching from orthodox to southpaw totally confused Kessler. Ward switched back and forth a lot and the fight and it was very effective.
