The writer's opinion wasn't any better than anyone else's. His claim that 'those who saw the blow never doubted it's stunning power' is a major part of his article and is pure speculation and something he could not have known.

No. It's a quote from Sonny Liston. He was obviously hit so either the following is true:

1. Liston is lying.
2. Liston was hit so hard he does not remember being hit.
3. Liston never said it.

You know the one you completely denied existed? That's all first hand in person from ringside observations of what occurred that evening. Read and understand it...if you can.

Here's what Kram says about the fight:

""Many people," Kram reported, "failed to see the short, fast right to the jaw that nailed Liston, and among them were numerous reporters. . . . (There is) no shred of evidence or plausibility to support the suggestion that this was anything but an honest fight.

Ali would have won the fight convincingly had it been on the up and up, not disputing that.

But it takes two fighters who want to be in there for it to be on the up and up.
