i know there's technically a russian and a british boxing school, but they're very americanized: kovalev has that wiggle in his step that slick american fighters have just like the klits. which style is the most effective? i like philadelphians like old man popkins, his approach is very educated. i know the mexican style is crude, aggressive, and offense-first like the majority of fighters from 1890-1930. they say golovkin has the mexican style but i have to disagree. the fact that he cuts off the ring, has the best jab in the sport and his offense is based on counter punching keeps him from being classified under any specific style or "school" i 'd classify him under "aggressive outboxer with power".

From a purely visual POV, "Mexican school'' has a bigger potential to create classic fights.

Cuban school is the most boring.

Golovkin is eastern Euro school. Mexico has two or more schools. Either rough and dirty or smooth and technical.

Outside of Canto and Sal Sanchez, who was smooth and technical from Mexico?

Nachos fighters. Even canelo is very technical and not the brawler type.

The Cuban boxing school needs to teach them how not to be fat and have glass jaws.

The Cuban school hasn't advanced to the use of advanced PED usage like their Russian counterparts. Perhaps this is why Russian boxers fear Cubans so much. They beat them clean while Russians are jacked to the gills with PEDs.

You just simply pointed out two opposing styles but failed to describe what "Mexican school" really is.

Look at the greatest Mexican fighters (Chavez, Marquez, Barrera) and you'll see that it ain't the styles Golovkin fights in. :-(

GGG does fight a lot like Chavez. Constantly coming forward and destroying their opponents not only with their power and constant pressure but also employing their very underrated skills to limit the opponents offense.

Barrera was a stereotypical Mexican fighter until he decided to use more offense after the Jr Jones fiasco and JMM is a hybrid( Like Finito Lopez and Sanchez).
