I'm a Kovalev fan and I have paid money to see him fight. I paid $56.00 to see Kovalev fight Mohammedi in Las Vegas to basically sit in the top of the arena. I was allowed to move my seat down to the 4th row when the TV time started because the place was ****ing half full for the main event.

Many like to call out Ward for only fighting in Oakland, well he fills up that arena in Oakland very well and has a solid fanbase there. Kovalev does not, which is why he solely depends on guys with followings to make him some money.

The question is will Kovalev be able to maintain his composure when the crowd is watching him get beat by Son Of God Andre Ward, a real American Hero!!!

(p.s. Some of you guys need to go to fights especially if you are the color of the MMA main fan base. Boxing needs you out here. I go to fights and it's all Blacks and Latinos with a sprinkle of Armenians and Eastern Euro fans. The American guys need to come out a represent. MMA is killing in the ticket department.):deal

Perhaps they should fight in Moscow then where who has more fans is no question.

    Great!

I wonder if they will check Dr. David Jackson's Mysterious Dark Blue Medically marked water bottle in Cali?

Kovalev beats him in Oakland, in a parking lot, in a lift with no lights. Fans or no fans.

If they ever fight I agree, that would be the place, but only because Ward has no passport and he suffer from severe car sick and his family doctor, Dr. Shaw Hi, gave him a prescription he ain't allow to travel in any circumstances

Kovalev would love nothing more than destroying Ward in Andre's own back yard. Kovalev enjoys silencing the crowd by punishing the home fighter. I like that about him.

:deal Seems to me that Kovalev's mean streak is activated when he can crumple a guy in front of family and friends. Home turf advantage really isn't an advantage with this guy.

So Ward can clinch, hold/hit and headbutt while 'only' having to make it to the final bell to win? Pretty sure the champ's management won't agree.

Old Snake Duva got creedy, she should never have relocated Kovalev so fast to Las Vegas.
Kovalev had fought 3 times in a row in New Jersey, why not keep the momentum moving? Especially if you have to face someone like Mohammedi.

Btw, both Ward and Kovalev have fought at the Boardwalk Hall. I will be actually surprised if the fight does not end up there or in Oakland.

Yeah, the comparison only really works if the Kovalev fight you mentioned would have been in Russia.

Ward's numbers are terrible even when they give away tickets. Theres zero
reason to fight in Oakland, take it up to the Forum. MSG would be an option
    as well.

ME made a questionable move by going to Vegas though, I agree 100% with
that. Vegas is a "destination". Small local population, relatively speaking. Need
coastal population centers to really move numbers at the "regular star"
level. Theres a huge difference between having 1 million and 40 million people
within mass transit range/couple hours drive.

I see where Duva was coming from though, Vegas offered her money and Atlantic City has become almost impossible to do business in. NYC is very expensive, and I think Stubhub was booked up.
