Will Scott Quigg go back to fighting 3rd world fruit farmers?

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by sasuke, Mar 7, 2016.

  1. Are we meant to believe that beating a top 3 P4P fighter won't enhance Carl's future earnings too?

There is no 'ducking' here Paddy.
Rigos reputation as a 'stinker' has caught up with him Paddy. People no longer will pay to watch him unfortunately. Framps is quite happy to fight Rigo Paddy, but as his manager it is Barrys job to do what is best for his fighter.
Anyway LSC makes money for everyone and he makes for an entertaining fight. Win win.

There was a lot of buzz when he was announced on The Terry-Derry bill, so he certainly generates interest here. Plus, Frampton claims to be hugely popular anyway so he can sell on his own, no? The point is, Rigo is his mandatory. If he elects to drop the belt that is on him and is absolutely a duck

Fighters have people called 'managers' Paddy.
The manager makes the business decisions. He decides who is best for his man to fight. Carl has no fear of Rigo personally, and is not 'ducking' him at all.

Also I dont think its a case that "Frampton claims to be hugely popular " - its fairly obvious that he IS popular, surely you've noticed??

Yep it's back to fighting skinny black africans with flys hovering round their head in the final stages of aids.

Okay, then it can be worded thus: "Frampton's team duck Rigo". Carl can make the fight happen very easily. All he has to do in an interview is say "yes I want to fight Rigo" and then his team have to react. He's his own man, he can demand his team make the fight if he isn't scared. Unless you're saying he is that much of a puppet for his team?

Cool, he doesn't have to worry about the other fighter not bringing fans into the fight in that case

I think he will have a "comeback fight" after the injury layoff

Then Hearn will try and shoot for a world title (most likely the McDonnell fight), its now or nvr for Quigg. Eddie milked the WBA interim belt for aslong as he could, its either a legitimate world title now or nothing, be that at his current weight or @ fW

His next title fight will tell us alot about him....

As a Frampton fan id like to see him fight Rigo, Rigo has shown vulnerabilities in recent fights, hes been inactive and at his age and with his style when father time kicks in then u can be caught out very quickly...

Ill add that i have always been a huge Rigo fan so i would jump at being able to see him live in a huge fight in my home town

It's not about 'stones'. Jeez, so many people on here just don't understand boxing. Let's make this very simple for you: Rigo is a tough fight for anyone with very little financial incentive. Only an idiot would advice their boxer to sign for this fight. Boxing is a short career, and it's about maximising earnings and minimising the risks taken in doing so.

People who talk about 'ducking' fail to understand this. Ergo. 'ducking' is a word reserved for the use of a casual. Yeah, that's you, squire.

Donaire made a Mil fighting Rigo. He's dropping his belt to not have to face his mandatory. That's ducking.

You're the casual here chief. Some of us just want the best in a division to fight each other
