Spinks by decision. Too tricky defensively for Bob.

    Interesting match up.

I'd lean to Spinks on points, but wouldn't wager much on it.

I asked Foster this personally once, he laughed.

    I disagree though. Spinks UD.

That doesn't surprise me at all.

I heard a story in which he ****sed off a 75 year old Archie Moore so thoroughly that the Mongoose was maddogging him.

Probably the best light heavy match up regarding size and power. They're both near equals in those departments with Foster having a slight edge in power over Spinks. Tough call.

Yes, I 'm from Albuquerque, Bob was a testy, competitive guy. He disliked Roy Jones more than the rest.

Yeah, I had a drink with him once, a local boxing promoter set up an event with Foster and Ken Norton. It was fun and depressing at the same time. Foster is an ex-sheriff's deputy, he more-or-less got over his career, but Ken was not in great shape at the time. I don't know if he ever got over being "Ken Norton."

Anyway, the only guy Foster had unqualified respect for was Ali. I asked him about the greatest and he said, "Now Ali, I had sparred with him before, but I couldn't believe how fast he was...he could FIGHT!" He also said if he had been able to hold weight on he would have beaten Frazier.

Two of the very best light heavies and too close to call.
