If Lucas Brown is smart he will do what Charles Martin is doing and cash out.

Browne earned to have an easy home-coming fight, and Oquendo fits the bill.

Oquendo looked **** poor vs Chagaev and that was in 2014.

Yeah so did half the site.

You're going against your own principles here attaboi, Manny Pacquiao is an aggressive come forward fighter like Joshua, Mayweather is a retreating sharpshooting counter puncher like Martin, add to that he has KO power and is a southpaw, a style which has always trouble Joshua in the past, he was KO'd in the ams by a....southpaw.

You're right there is a disparity in talent levels, Joshua is not on Martin's level.

And even if those two stood on equal ground in terms of talent and ability - Joshua has already proven that Martin is a bad style for him. There is no denying that.
The only dark horse factor is that we have never seen Martin tested. Can he stand his ground when Joshua goes ham on him(as Joshua does in every fight)?

That's the one question I have as well, but as Hearn has indicated AJ will probably be more cautious early on, to avoid nearly getting KO'd like what almost happened with Whyte. That scenario definitely favors Martin, and who's to say if AJ rushes in he doesn't get caught and taken out that way as well.

Oh please! Tyson almost didn't lose to Buster either, but he did! And let's be honest here. You gave Browne no chance of beating an over the hill Chagaev no matter how many fat rolls he was carrying. Right?

Why the hurry to cash in? I think he beats the aged Oquendo who hasn't been in the ring for nearly two years.

Then he can get the big money fight he wants, be it Haye, Joshua, Fury or whoever else brings in the $$$$

To much gets made of Joshua's amateur career. He took up boxing late and achieved a lot in a short space of time, but he is a much different fighter now.

I remember thinking it was a mistake when he turned pro because, technically and tactically, he was still very raw. He seemed to garner so much of his success due to his natural physical abilities. However, his learning curve since turning pro has been steep. His technique and patience has increased significantly. He had the hiccup against Whyte, but since he has shown a great ability to learn from his mistakes i would also expect him to learn from that one.

Martin is certainly no bum like others have suggested, but i think a calm Joshua who works for his openings by throwing feints and using head movement to disrupt Martin's timing and employing a strong jab will give Martin trouble. Joshua has shown the skills needed to achieve good things in this sport, but due to the level of opposition he has been lazy at times with his technique. Against a willy, cagey, hard hitting southpaw like Martin, i expect Joshua to vome in fully focused and put on the performance of his career. It will be tough, and Martin's skills, power and proven stanima and ability to pace a fight (which Joshua hasn't proven yet) will give him problems, but i do expect Joshua to win.

AJ beat a better fighter in his last fight than Martin actually is. And it will become painfully apparent to you when the bell rings that Martin is cashing out, although you can use that in your post match excuse.

Secondly Wilder earned less in those 3 fights you mentioned that Martin will likely do against The Juggernaut

AJ probably offered Martin proper money. Haye probably offered Browne a lowball paycheck. Browne has the wait for a good offer to come around.

When has Whyte been an unknown fighting in Southern California with 2 Mexican judges against a Mexican in a 4 rounder. Don't tell me, you being English and all, that you haven't seen your fare share of shoddy questionable decisions which vary by region.

He doesn't need to cash out just yet. Oquendo will have not fought in 2 years by the time he gets his mandatory shot and will be 43 years old by then and was forced to pull out of the Chagev fight last year due to a shoulder injury, suffice to say he isn't the fighter he once was and even in his prime he was never more than a gate keeper.
