Not really. Unless you want to be literal to the point of saying that he failed to beat every single licensed professional out there which would be ludicrous.. Point is he beat everyone who "mattered" between 1986-1989.

Tyson also has a very underrated resume.

Certainly better than Dempsey, Marciano, Vitali, Liston and Bowes.

    He pretty much did.

That's why Holyfield a former cw, was perceived as the only guy who had a chance of beating him.

From 86-89, all roads lead to Tyson.

Most people rank Liston higher and rightfully so. Liston cleaned out the heavyweight division very easily and unlike Tyson, ducked nobody. :yep He was himself ducked by the champion, another ATG in Floyd Patterson. He was being ducked for so long, by the time he fought Floyd he had already passed his prime. And what happened when he fought Floyd? He annihilated him with relative ease. Twice. :thumbsup

He did his fair share of ducking. Something you can never accuse Liston of.

Who? About the only guy worth anything who he didn't face at the time of his peak was Witherspoon, and Tim pretty much eliminated himself when he got blasted out by Smith.

At the time of his peak? He ducked Foreman and Mercer among others.

Those guys weren't on the scene when Tyson was dismantling the division in the 80s. Mercer was still in the amateurs.. Foreman was just beginning his comeback and beating trial horses.. They aren't relevant to the discussion.

His prime was mid 80s up to the time he went to jail.

Even if you wanted to play it that way, mercer was still only a 17 fight prospect with perhaps only one signature win and not ranked very high at the time Tyson was wrapped up with the Ruddock fights. Foreman wasn't considered as a top flight challenger until AFTER Tyson had lost the title and by that point had his sites set on Holyfield. There is no point of connect with what you're claiming.

I'm not the one who literally favors Tyson over any other fighter in history though am I?
