Tyson... stronger resume in a stronger era. No major ducks during extremely active prime.

    Tyson definitely.

He's like a more disciplined, quicker, bigger and stronger version of Dempsey.

Tyson in his prime used to box behind the jab, bobbing and weaving his way into an opening. He just has quicker athleticism and an extra 30 pounds of muscle.

How did Dempsey have the better record?

Tyson fought and lost to better fighters than Dempsey, namely Holyfield and Lewis.

P4p Tyson was superior to Dempsey, the size disparity between Tyson and his opponents was greater than that of Dempseys.

And if my memory serves me correctly, Mike Tyson was the last heavyweight to be seen as the p4p best fighter on the planet.

Since Tyson we've seen Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis and the Klitsckos come and go and none of them were able to accomplish that feat.

    Oh and Tyson ko1 Dempsey.

Regarding Dempsey having the better chin, well Tysons been knocked out more times than Amir Khan...does that mean Khan has a better chin than Tyson?

It raises the questions that fans use when evaluating and comparing different era's.
H2H vs legacy, and acknowledging the progression of boxers and athletes overall.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if Tyson, in his Tysonesque proportions, was scaled down to 188 pounds and matched with Dempsey's opponents.

Remember at that weight he'd probably be 5'6, 5'7 or thereabouts and his reach would be about 66 or 67 inches too.
He'd be insanely fast with his hands and he'd still pack great power although not as much as at 220.

    OR

Scale Dempsey up to 220 pounds, he's probably be 6'4 and have an 81 inch reach.

So, Willard would be 9 feet tall?

Now, you are just making up imaginary fighters not the ones in question.

I always felt that Dempsey was better technically, but that Tyson had more natural talent.

Exactly. Scale Valuev down and he'd be Kovalev's twin. :-(
Comment makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Not dissimilar to Unforgiven's comments on Tyson being a beefed up Patterson.
