I'm not saying that this is a like for like comparison but George isn't in the best form and David Brophy lives the life. He might well be KO'd early but if he comes in on top form and George underestimates him then anything is possible!!

On your point about Rocky Martinez not travelling well, the night that Ricky fought him no one mentioned him not travelling well. Now maybe in hindsight that is the case but not before he fought Ricky mate

I think the difference is that Rocky was very much hyped as a pound for pound king.. Hadn't been in with anyone whereas George has been in with at least 4 world class fighters. He has also stopped Kenny Anderson and Paul Smith who are both above the level that David has fought at.. I would love him to do it but my head tells me he will get knocked out bad

Some people on here are so bitter. We should be getting behind a young and undefeated Scottish boxer - who is taking on a very hard fight on a massive platform. Good luck David Brophy!

I don't believe paul or Kenny are levels above david at all no way, don't be mislead by brophys record
david has sparred and more than held is own with the very best SMW in the UK, hes been given a great opportunity 9th April to showcase his talent

Just my opinion Billy I've only seen a couple of fights I don't see David in the gym or sparring.. I agree that you can't get a better chance to showcase your talent than a Ppv fight.. Callum Smith is not the best SMW in the UK mate... James Degale Is followed by George Groves.. I will be hoping David wins but surely you agree it's a similar step up to Cornish.. Joshua wasn't and isn't as proven as Groves.. If he can do it then great..

No I don't purely and with the utmost respect David is far more talented than Gary imo.
People saying David's cashing out makes me laugh, my gym is used to winning, we are winners our last defeat was Ricky Burns v Crawford and Ricky done ok for himself
Id say DeGale is No1, Smith No2, Grooves No3 and Rocky No4 with Brophy No5 the difference being the other lads have all been given a chance and took it at the next level this is now David's chance, really looking forward to it.

Bit of a nonsense to call his win a fluke. He fought the wrong fight v Johanneson - if he'd jabbed and moved then he'd have won.

On paper this is a miss match purely down to the level both have fought at , groves needs to look good and brophy has a chance to make a name for himself , think groves wins but brophy will not be there just for a payday , good luck to him

Ahead of Jamie Cox, Martin Murray and Frank Buglioni? David has fought 2 levels below these lads.. For a undefeated fighter to cash out so early in their career would be suicide so I think you genuinely believe you can win. I hope your right. Would of rather seen him in with Liam Cameron, Luke Blackledge or even Lee Markham these would be more 50/50 fights and a step up.. In saying that can't fault him for taking his chance.. Good luck getting sparring to match Groves style ha..

Hearn said they're both having a warm-up before fighting at the 02.

So, this is Groves version of Joshi "fighting" Cornish... Although I actually rate Cornish over Brophy in this case.

Can't blame him though, he had a couple of unfortunate results and needs to build up again. An early KO over someone with no power and an extremely padded record is always a smart way to go, if you take a couple of harder fights after.

Was about to post the exact same thing.

Go for tough fights and your cashing out, carry on fighting within your comfort zone and you're a bum with a padded record. Sometimes, you just can't win.

I appreciate you coming on here Billy and I always like to hear your opinion on boxing but to say Brophy is number 5 in the UK is madness. Brophy is number 5 above Cox. Brophy not even in the top 10. Frank Buglioni moved up now.

Good luck to Brophy he will need it but for me it is a total miss match. And all respect to Brophy and Billy its just to make Groves look good for a fight with Murray July. If Groves wanted a decent test he should have gone for Jamie Cox.

It has been said on here its like AJ VS Cornish pointless.

Good luck to Brophy if he pulls it off and I am proven wrong I will come on here and say so
