Great to see Carl getting acknowledged, just like many of his fellow Irish boxing greats have in the past. Leave it to the Brits to show some class eh?

Shame we don't see him getting invited to the Phoenix Park to receive awards like that from our Irish Establishment.

Thats the whole point Fra - its not a first. If you read the article lots of Irish boxers have been honoured at Buck House.
How many of em have got a similar invite from the 'Irishtocracy' down south, eh?

Look at the recent Billy Walsh fiasco......:|

I didnt say to ban MGM but I cant imagine them running any shows in Ireland in the near future, so in the meantime maybe Hatton can run shows. Ireland and Im including the North here Fra, the country is in dire need of a big time promoter to bring the big fights here, otherwise our boxers will always be cannon fodder when it comes to major title fights.

Yes I know you didn't say " ban mgm " but you ( and everyone else too ) seem to be very passively accepting that they are banned.
As long as they - or anyone else - is conducting perfectly legal, and by your own admission, badly needed, business, (we all agree a promoter here is vital) then they should be given full protection by our "authorities" (eg de gords and BUI). Not thrown under the bus.

Can you see MGM running any shows soon? Can you see the MGM promotional group ever getting the respectability that will take them to main stream viewers the way Brain Peter's could? It's a shame that with the talented amateurs we have, we don't have a promoter that can fully invest in irish boxing and give us the world class success that our boxers deserve.

To answer your question Marty, no I can't butfor example MGM had a show in Scotland last weekend. As far as I know there was no problems with it. We should be mature enough to not tar everyone with the one brush. Seems such a shame to punish boxers and people like Seamus and Matthew Macklin. We are being treated to "news bulletins" full of PR spin showing our glorious police force dressed up in Star Wars costumes going around confiscating cars and watches......like Rolexes and Beemers are the problem!!!

Meanwhile the livelihoods of lots of decent boxers is in tatters. By all means nail the guilty, but support the innocent, I say.
Surely mgm could get clean guys to run a show here, like in Scotland? It's such a shame.

The Kinahans will be sitting ducks at any show they put on in Dublin. They're not gonna be puttin shows on anytime soon. So, there will be a void that needs to be filled, and if Hatton Boxing (I don't know what the story is, the article was taken down of the Irish Boxing page) does come over to crack the market, with a few Irish signings, they'll be very welcome. Cause right now, no matter how you spell it out, MGM aren't puttin shows on here for the foreseeable future.

Can anyone confirm if Hatton Boxing signed an Irish Light Heavy after this year seniors? He was beaten by Delany in the final.

The Kinshans could stay away. There's no need for Daniel Kinahan to be there in person anyway. He generally seems to keep a very low profile. As I said, they had a show in Scotland last weekend. The world didn't end ...the sky didn't fall.
Besides after the heat the last attack drew on the underworld, (not to mention the loss of all those lovely Rolexes :) ) the very last thing anyone is going to do now is draw even more heat.
The safest place in Dublin right now would be an Mgm boxing event.

He said earlier in the week that he wants the fight and that it's more likely now, having signed with Frank W.
