Mike Tyson said he used to study the art of intimidation. Tyson also said boxing is not a tough mans sport its a smart mans sport. He said tough men are gonna talk funny at the end of the day in this business this is a thinking mans game a smart mans sport. The guy that wins the most at the apex of his game is the smartest fighter. You only reach that level where Floyd and those guys are is because your the smartest fighter. I think the Klitschko's also mastered the art of intimidation. Fedor Emelianenko was a master of this art also. Ali, Foreman and Pac Man and Duran where also smart who used the art of intimidation. I see Kovalev and Golovkin are also masters of this art. The line is thin in this art because you can put so much fear into your opponent that he can kick your ass. That's why one of the oldest sayings in boxing is don't ever let a coward get brave because it's going to be so hard to stop him.

Who are the smart boxers today with the personality other then Kovalev and Golovkin that master this art?

As much as I agree with intimidation being a big factor in a lot of sports, in boxing most of the intimidation is a physical thing. Massive size and/or power bring you a long way.

Also doing it wrong can work the opposite way, just take a look at the Dirrell brothers and their pathetic barking.

Ya no doubt there is a fine line and size can also be a factor. But not always. Look at Ali he intimidated Sonny Liston. Fedor was always the smallest guy and he intimidated everybody. Golovkin is not big but his silent aura of intimidation has scared a whole division away.

    Has to be Fluid.

You know he's gonna be Fluid but there's nothing you can do as he uses Olympic style testing. You know he's gonna run and hug but what can you do anything when he's got all the judges, ref, commissioners....bought.

    That's intimidating.

That's more like the art of gang warfare. Very intimidating.

Problem with Tyson was like Jose Torres said he was also easily intimidated himself and a mental midget.

    lol :rofl

The Russians do seem to have the advantage at the mo. Golovkin, Kovalev etc

A lot of the Americans just try and come off like pathetic gang bangers when they try - Brandon Rios esq or the Dirrells.

If Joshuas KO streak continues he might develop something

Tyson Fury is really good at getting into his opponents' heads, probably best today? I don't think Pacquiao or Golovkin do it on purpose, they're scary on fight night, not in the buildup. It's actually their previous body of work that's intimidating. Kovalev is a scary guy, if he doesn't like you, I think he can work the intimidation game very well. If he and Stevenson ever fight, I think he's going to have Stevenson nervous the week before the fight. People mentioned Floyd, he wasn't intimidating but he knew how to get in your head.
