You took the words right out of my Thesaurus, Boxed. If I'd had world enough but time, that's exactly what I'd have said.

Just checking... you do think they're good, right?

But the terrible one sided beating by mccallum was woeful he fought like a foolish come forward pressure fighter and was battered to a knockout in 11

It really disappointed that he couldnt compete with a mccallum the way herol graham had....graham would have drawn that fight but for a point deducted for throwing.

Still i think watson showed massive improvement as a,pressure fighter v eubanks and no doubt would have gone on to be a super middle world champion and improved even more.

He had good defensive smarts, incredibke stamina, the best physique ive seen on a middleweight from europe.

BoxRec has Joe Calzaghe No.1 and Steve Collins No.2 on a.t. list for Supermiddleweights. (Muhammad Shabazz, personal friend; AND Harold Souther, personal friend each went against Steve Collins WHEN he was living here in Ne part-of-his-career. John Scully a "decent" product from here (Connecticut) used to SPAR Steve Collins regularly. When he (John) turned PRO I once ASKED him how he thought he might do Vs Steve Collins. [Scully back then always thought he will become the top boxer..]...remember/ JS "swallowed very hard" at that question!)

Collins was very good. Eubank was one of a kind, so was Benn in his own way.

Not sure how to define 'great' but both did uniquely great things.

Collins claims he beat kalambay, johnson and mccallum but the judges got it wrong.he also claims roy jones v him was the fight the world wanted to see. The two wins over eubanks were razor thin but he won.the two wins over benn looked on their way to being classics and collins made benn stop fighting twice.....u simply cant argue the facts this was a very very good boxer.mccallum complimented collins"s boxing skills

We would probably have a more definitive answer if the super middleweight division didn't exist. As it goes, very few have achieved more at that particular weight class especially in H2H scenarios. Would anyone agree that 2 of these 3 were greater than Carl Froch? Someone I'd consider a very good fighter, although I'm still not convinced those 2 are lock ATGs. Eubank's record is impressive and my gut instinct is he was the best of the 3.

No question Eubank was a significantly better boxer than Benn or Collins.

Eubank was a huge betting favourite for the second Benn and two Collins fights, (as he was the for the two Watson fights), I think he'd of won those fights comfortably if he boxed properly like he usually did, instead of letting the occasions throw him off a bit (leading instead of countering against Benn II, held off too much against Collins).

That's belaboring the point a bit to excess, IMO.

They were all world class in their day, and if Eubank in particular falls short of "greatness" there isn't that much headroom.

:good yeah McCallum dismantled Watson and did a real job on him.
Watson looked like he was genuinely out of his depth and had no answer to a fighter who is one of the best technicians ever.
Watson did show top class bottle though
