Pacquiao's gameplan coming into the fight was to outbox Mayweather. NOT the plan I would have chosen to go with, but Pacquiao actually succeeded on many levels. His head movement and defense was probably the best I've seen from him. He made Mayweather miss and miss badly. If you factor in Pacquiao being much smaller, generally easy to find, and Mayweather being known as a sharpshooter w/ accuracy, Pacquiao actually neutralized his offense. Most of the shots Pacquiao took were the natural result of being the aggressor. Pacquiao's punished him to the body as he wheeled away from the ropes and hit him flush in the center of the ring plenty of times. Mayweather was reduced to largley glancing jabs.

Mayweather didn't trade with Pacquiao because he would have been knocked out.

People hated this fight, but I loved it and to me, it was an indicator that in 2009, Pacquiao would have washed him.

Bigger guys also absorb punches much better than smaller guys. Pacquiao and Marquez may hit harder than Mayweather, but their smaller frames cannot take the same punishment.

Also an aggressive fighter does his best work at the lower weight classes. As soon as they rise in weight against the naturally bigger fighters (bigger frame, size), aggressive fighters struggle, just like how Wilfredo Gomez an ATG pressure fighter got knocked out and looked unimpressive at 126lbs.

    bump.

You guys can ignore the facts all you want but Pac and Mayweather are the same size. Below are two Pics from the HBO tale of the tape. Won is from Mayweathers WW title over Judah. He weighed 146 on fight night. The other is from Pacquaio-Marquez which was fought at super feather, 3 division below WW yet Pacuqiao weighed one lb less than Floyd. Crazy!! Pacquiao was a tremendous weight cutter. He got schooled by an old man!

That's not always the case, like I said, educated yourself on HW division. Watch some 250 lbs guys against 220-230 lbs opponents. May didn't really have a far better chin than Pac and he was the lesser puncher.

And smaller guys usually have higher workrate and better handspeed, another reason bigger guys usually fight from the outside against them.

Bigger guys almost always absorb punishment better. That's why guys lose their power as they move up in weight.

Not neccessarily in this specific case. And It's more common that smaller man having higher workrate and better handspeed.

On average bigger fighters are tougher. Having a good chin is the most important ingredient for tow to toe action.
