Haye has no major TV sponsor, Hearn has already hijacked this fight... IF Joshua dispatches Martin ( without any controversy / close decision ) his next opponent will be Browne in a huge stadium unification, maybe not Wembley status but Old Trafford status... Hearn will already have a deal for Browne that Haye cannot match, full Sky PPV backing etc, IF Joshua was to be successful against Browne (IBF + WBA) he would be in an extremely comfortable position for negotiations against the Fury/Klitschko winner.. Obviously a few 'IFs' but, I can honestly see Hearn plotting this course.. Can you imagine a Fury vs Joshua at Wembley next year for all the spoils? I can.. this is business after all...
There are a lot of things there that can change quite quickly. I fully expect Haye's next fight to be on a major channel following his numbers for Dave. If it's not someone is missing a trick. I don't think the public buy into Lucas Browne as a credible threat or a genuine belt holder so I can't see any 'unification' fight being bigger than the 02. Browne brings very little to the table other than his trinket.
If Haye can sell out the O2 again against a top 15 guy I'd imagine that his next fight will be on ITV/Channel 5/Dave as the rights fee will be secondary to him. If he steps up to the likes of Pulev, Povetkin etc I can see Sky getting involved with or without Hearn.
Haye has seen the huge sums paid out to British boxers for Pay per Poo domestic fights and wants another slice. As long as the mugs pay, Haye will fight another day.
No they are not. If you want to watch the fight and cannot see it live, it is a cheap night in, I do not see any downside.
Why does everyone go on about Stadium fights on here, in reality stadium fights rarely happen they come around once every three years tops.
:good:good obviously after pro punter gets his benefits and pays for all his porn subscriptions then its impossible for him to buy the ppv:good
No one has satisfactorily explained why it is such a bad thing to part with a few quid to watch fights you'd like to see. Punter seems unhappy at both PPV model and TV channel model tried by Boxnation. Presumably he will only be happy when fights are made absolutely free and all boxers and those involved in the sport agree to fight for nothing. Wait, even then he (and others) will moan about people like Haye fighting on 'Dave'.
I am just about old enough to remember in the 70s. The era of the Mexican Z men, Arguello, DeJesus, Duran, Cervantes, Benitez,Napoles, Griffith, Monzon, Foster, Ali, Frazier, Foreman and the 76 Olympians. great era eh? Yes, shame that with the exception of the Heavyweights, we rarely got to see them fight (on TV) here in the UK. At least in this era you have the option to watch...
