Moorer was a neat boxer with very good power but he was too reticent sometimes and didn't always apply meaningful pressure. For me Vitali just needs to stay behind his jab and throw the right hand if Moorer threatens to get inside. Michael either is happy to survive and lose a decision or he likely gets stopped. Either way, I find it hard to envision him winning this fight.
It wasn't that easy for Foreman and his jab/straight was lights years beyond Vitali's. Once Vitali tasted leather he retreated and hesitated to come forward and apply pressure. His fights with lesser boxers than Moorer prove this. Keeping his arms down by his waist like he done his whole career is offering the hard counter punching Moorer shots for free. Thats why he was totally knacked from Byrd body shotting him at will. You can argue about injuries all day , but what injury really was there when he was back in training soon after and never sought the rematch when he had one under contract. Given that Byrd was the only prime southpaw he fought and not being as good as Moorer , you have to give him more than a fair chance based off reality.
If you are going to use this as your reference for the fight outcome---how about we look at some of MM less than scintillating performances? Like say Frankis Swindell? Or how about that big struggle with Alex Stewart? Jirov? We can easily probe holes in those efforts and results and play the other guy automatically wins game. How about working a few branches out from the trunk of the tree instead? Where do MM feet have to be placed in relation to the other guy for him to land a punch? What does Moorer do if he cannot back the other guy up and he is retreating? How does Moorer absorb punishment from this guy and not have it take effect round after round and show zero deterioration signs? As for the offense of Moorer, can he outjab this guy? Can he get countered? What affect does Moorer's punches have on this opponent? How does Moorer win rounds and how many punches landed per round will that take to win on the scorecards? Defensively how many punches will he need to make this opponent miss per round? this guy always threw 60 per round. Far more than moorer. So michael has to reduce this guy to what % landed? How effective do you think Moorer will be as a road warrior? He'll be going into the lions den--something he rarely did.
Chisora put VK on the back foot for 12 rounds. End of story Your version of VK only exists in fantasty land.
Moorer destroyed Alex Stewart. A decent boxer with good movement. Vitali was steered away from moving targets in his carefully manufactured career. I wouldn't rule out a loss to Alex Stewart either
Lol My thoughts exactly. I liked watching Double M fight especially when he was on. But Vitali was tough as nails and his awkward style, acurracy, and strength would wear Michael out in a fun fight while it lasted. Yes Byrd was a southpaw who Vitali lost his belt to. But was Vitali out boxing and well ahead on the cards before the shoulder injury?? Yes.
Mayweather dropped to his knees in pain from a broken hand during a fight. Did he quit? No. He gave up a few rounds adapting to the southpaw stance , re-gained control and got himself over the line. Vitali's injury is an excuse, plain and simple and excuses are for losers. Vitali was exhausted and that was down to Byrds body attack paying off. Wearing a guy down is a legitimate method of gaining a victory. But in Klitschko land it doesn't count . Along with a technical stoppage on chronic facial injuries.
Popped shoulders can easily be placed back into the socket. A torn rotator cuff is painful. There is no quick fix. Surgery is needed. It should be noted that Vitali had a torn rotator cuff in the CHistora match and finished the fight. Apparently your medical acumen is as bad as your boxing ****ysis. Dino, please work on a new act.
Sure. And pacman didn't really lose to mayweather either. You sound like a child. Your idol got beaten. Deal with it.
