Anyone out there who (preferably bought and) read THE GODS OF WAR (Tora, 2014) may appreciate knowing that the second in what will be a series of three boxing books is out now.

This one is called IN THE CHEAP SEATS (Tora, 2016) and brings readers into arenas for a unique look at modern fights. Most are written as narratives and you probably know already that I can't write about boxing without looking backward at its golden era/s.

HBO's Jim Lampley wrote the foreword; and included in the book are award-winning essays about GGG-Lemieux, Kovalev-Hopkins, DeGale-Dirrell, Pacquaio, Mayweather, Roy Jones ("Me & Mr. Jones"), Kelly Pavlik, Martinez-Williams II, Rigondeaux-Donaire, Klitschko-Jennings, "Tamerlan Tsarnaev vs. Boston," "George Zimmerman vs. Trayvon Martin"

... as well as Harry Greb, Mae West, and Joe Rein (better known on this forum as "John Garfield")...

I believe I've read the John Garfield essay. If so, it's worth the price of the book alone.

Thank you, Saintpat. That one took me a week to write; too close to home. It got a BWAA first-place plaque though, and since it was Joe Rein/John Garfield who pulled me into boxing writing in the first place and always cheered me/us on, it felt like much more. He wrote that, really. It's his plaque.

Of course I would buy a book from one of my all-time favourite posters.
You are a big reason why I joined the forum in the first place, my friend.
    Looking forward to it.
Will the book ever become available as an ebook? For convenience sake?

Probably not, FoF. It probably won't even be released as a paperback either. I suspect that other editions besides the current one will only eat away at profit, and if everyone knows that my books are only released as hardcovers, they won't wait on buying (like I do!).

As it is, it looks good on the mantle. I have it right beside "The Gods of War" and purposefully made sure that they have the same dimensions and such. In another couple of years there will be a third to complete the collection.

My shipment of IN THE CHEAP SEATS finally arrived. For anyone living on the continental US, the shipping is free. PM me if interested in a signed/inscribed copy.

Signed copies of IN THE CHEAP SEATS ($25) is going to be as limited as the stock.

(I have plenty of THE GODS OF WAR, however. Those are $20.)
