    1) Musclebound 215-218lb men aren't cruiserweights.

    2) Those fights took place 11-12 years into Tyson's career, well after Marciano had already retired, if we're doing a fight by fight comparison.

Fury is an example of how low the hwt division has become. A simply horrible low skilled hwt. A lumbering clumsy oaf. Yet some think this is all great boxing. The hwt division has been so bad for so long it's fans are now dumbed down to an unpresidented level.

And obsessed with fighters dimensions to the point of ignoring everything else.

No, it's more about imagining Tyson fighting 49 guys who were basically six foot tall and 190 something pounds.

As opposed to spending nearly his entire career fighting guys who were 6'4" plus and 230 pounds-plus.

If Tyson could basically stand eyeball to eyeball to all his opponents, it's a different story. He didn't tend to lose to those guys. He didn't tend to lose to most of the bigger ones, either. But he certainly didn't to the ones his size OR SMALLER.

Instead of repeating your conclusions over and over, why don't you actually explain what you mean? How is Fury low-skilled? Do you really think he's less skilled than the Max Baers and Primo Carnera's of the world? If so, why?

Not really. The problem is that some people here live in a fantasy world where size is irrelevant if one fighter has "class" and is an old "ATG."

I like Fury. It's early to tell where his legacy will land, but he's the lineal HW champ of the world. And he's acting like one. He's an old school fighter, and grows up from such a background.

I hold Jess Willard, the Klitschkos and Primo Carnera in high esteem. Fury joins their club.

    Depends how you define monster.

Good enough to beat a HW with quick feet and a solid jab? Clearly not. As I said earlier, I think old Holmes could have done the job also.

But good enough to beat a former LHW? Undoubtedly as we saw him crush one of the very best fighters ever to grace the LHW division.

Yes, Fury is way worse than Leon Spinks being the champ and today is worse than 1978 when Domingo D'Elia, Kallie Knoetze and Ossie Occassio were ranked in the Top Ten.

    Um ... no!

From someone who was actually a fan back then, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, Wlad Klitschko, Luis Ortiz, David Haye, Joseph Parker, etc. are better than Leon Spinks, Domingo D'Elia, Kallie Knoetze and Ossie Ocasio.

In fact, a couple of the fighters today could probably beat Spinks, D'Elia, Knoetze and Ocasio all on the same evening.:good
