Yeah, years ago if you told me that Floyd Mayweather was going to be making 20-30 million dollars fighting Guerrero, Ortiz, and Berto I would have laughed in your face and told you that Floyd Mayweather is the most boring fighter in boxing. He can't draw even in his home town and no one will pay to see him fight B level fighters like those guys. :shrug

Who ****in' knows what the rules are anymore? I was floored when I heard Cotto was getting fifteen million for Alvarez; since I thought they were worth maybe one or two million a piece.

 

Probably by continuing to acquit himself very well in them.

 

I cant see how they can make profits paying Cotto that much. I guess Roc Nation is just running a charity. The signed Ward because they felt sorry for him after he lost 3 court cases in 1 year. They also probably felt sorry for Cotto because he was hit with bricks.

 

Well, how does Provodnikov keep getting big matches when he always loses? Word gets out that you are totally beatable, but you still have a rating somewhere around tenth in your division so the top guys take turns beating on you rather than facing each other.

Realistically, Chaves is the same level as Rios who got fed to Bradley and Pacquiao. Chaves being fed to Bradley and Thurman is the same thing.

 

That'll be cold comfort for Roc since their breakeven is much, much higher thanks to Cotto's guaranteed purse. I'm sure they'll love seeing an accountants' note saying "*at least you sold more PPV's than GGG" listed right next to a huge figure written in red ink.

Cotto alone has to get paid multiples of what the entire GGG-Lemieux card cost to put on.
