8 april card is still on.Sergey Kuzmin/Konstantin Airich and Vladimir Tereshkin/Yuberty Suarez Diaz on the card.
Yeah just saw that Towers pulled out again, what's with him pulling out all the time these days? :huh
Poor Airich has been reduced to a punching bag at this point... Kuzmin gets him out of there in 2-3 rounds MAX.
Mezencev NEEDS a lot of work on his defense and footwork, too robotic and easy to hit. But there's some things to like about him... Namely his age, quick hands, and good combination punching. Still a guy to look out for despite the bad loss to TS.
So Guinn is back in.... Hoping he gives Fury some good rounds, even if he gets shut out here it's still a better experience than blowing someone like Olubamiwo or Zarate in a rd or two. Disappointed that Towers pulled out again, but all things considered Gavern is a solid replacement for someone like Allen on such short notice. Arguably still the best opponent he would have faced thus far. Bahoeli fighting in France for a local title? He's decent domestically in Canada and would be a decent opponent for European prospects like Granat, Wallin, Kuzmin and even Fury should he decide to stick around and test waters in the Euro scene. Luckily for Zhang it's not THAT Ortiz that he's facing What would not go well for him. Still think he has some upside despite the vulnerabilities he's shown, a 6'6 southpaw with his amateur pedigree is always going to be someone to look out for in the HW division.
Well... Alfonso may have beaten him in the amateurs, but hasn't done anything in his pro career to suggest he'd repeat the feat. would like to see him in with at least a few top 100s before commenting on his chances against a PROVEN contender. Peter lost to Harrison in the amateurs, I think we all know who would have won in the pros. Tyson lost to Tillman twice in the ams and destroyed him inside of a rd when they rematched in the pro ranks.
In 2005 he lost to ortiz by 1st round tko.In 2008 he beat Ortiz 13/0.In 2009 he won Cuban nationals,Ortiz even didn't compete at the Cuban nationals in that year.In 2010 Alfonso also won nationals. In 2010 Ortiz turned pro.Alfonso turned pro in 2012.Luis Ortiz is 7 years older. At 29,Alfonso can acomplish more than Ortiz, because of age difference, also Alfonso is more skilled than Ortiz, judging by amateur results and he is boxer,Ortiz is just boxer/puncher with one gameplan. P.S.Check this out,Robert Alfonso holds win over Erlisandy Savon.
But he seems fishy.Win over Kayode, where he was roided out.Win over destroyed Jennings. And gaining weight ever since he was on roids. He was looking obese and fatiqued in his last fight.
Interesting facts.... But again, we need to see him beat some decent pros first. Remember what happened with Solis who's without a doubt the best Cuban HW amateur aside from Savon. I'm not saying that he can or can't beat Ortiz or other heavyweight contenders, just that we need to see more from him. He needs to be A LOT more active though. 6 fights in 3 years in inexcusable.
