How many times was he robbed in his pro career?

(genuinely robbed, not just that he didn't get the nod in a close one... I remember doing a poll thread on this exact subject for Glen Johnson one time and the number was somewhat lower than expected but still pretty staggering... consensus indicating that he was robbed in about ½ of his combined losses & draws. Pt 1: http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=525001 Pt 2: http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=525002)

Has to be in the neighborhood of at least a dozen, no? Of thirty-three decisions to not go his way (27 of his losses, bar the five stoppages and two disqualifications; and six draws) I'd be shocked if, upon investigation and checking aggregate scorecards, less than a third of those were found to be very bad decisions. As with Johnson, it may not be a majority of times he got robbed as some fans say - but where there's smoke there's fire and it definitely was a heap of times.

Anyway, judges are still doing Emanuel no favors. As some of you may recall, he was shot in the head walking down the street in October 2014 by a thug named Christoper Stills whose target was someone else and whose aim was just terrible (as terrible as, say, Augustus' luck).

He was doing well as of September, having emerged from his coma and resumed a normal life (http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=556248) - but on Monday, all charges against Stills were dismissed as the DA couldn't build a strong enough case with the sole witness having been killed in the meantime and their office supposedly having difficulty contacting Augustus for a statement. Bear in mind, Augustus was already exhibiting signs of being punch-drunk before his coma. :-( You'd think maybe they would go the extra mile in reaching the victim when their mental faculties are compromised.

This happens all the time with that said I hope the man who shot him is brought to justice one day. Augusts didn't deserve that.

I don't want to get a ban for a racist comment or bring race into it.
but I think they over looked this because he was black. Racism is strong in the usa.

If someone started a gofundme for this bloke I'd chuck in some dollarydoos. I owe him royalties for the amount of times I've watched his fight with Ward.

    Very sad state of affairs.

Maybe. The scum that slayed Vernon Forrest was brought to justice. :conf

Then again, Forrest was much higher-profile than Augustus, having been an Olympic silver medalist and world champ. Augustus was on paper just a journeyman (despite having been televised often and enjoying mild "celebrity" relative to most journeymen with records like his), and, to authorities, yeah, could've been viewed as "just some old black guy that used to be a fighter". :verysad

He was a **** fighter He lost about 35 fights nearly as much as he fought

Mayweather went to the brink with him no wonder he never wanted to fight margo

Floyd had so much problems and looked tired as hell imagine a big lump margo with a iron chin and 20 ibs on him walking him down all night with 10 times more stamina and much more power?

    GTFO, troll.

You see an opportunity to indirectly bash Mayweather, so you pounce on it by shit-talking a widely respected pugilist who is suffering brain damage from both his career and his senseless victimization in a random shooting, for which no justice has been dispensed? You're that horned up for any excuse to 'score a point' for Team Pacquiao Nut-Huggers?

    You are despicable.

I think it's in double-figures anyway (which is incredible when you think about it). He was given the short end of the stick more consistently than any fighter I can remember.

If you add in the close decisions that he deserved, his record would look a lot different.

I never rated him as a fighter he lacked many things and its not by chance his record reads the way it reads.

He lacked power which was one of his biggest flaws he also did not even the skills needed to really stake a claim in the sport.

I had Ward winning that by 2 if I remember correctly but the official cards were horrible.
