If this was suppose to say butler leaves arnie yes 100percent true.

 

Good move.
He needs a change.
Thought he was very lucky to beat Hall and looked clueless when facing Tete, like he hadn't prepared at all.

 

About as clueless as that post.

 

Is there any proof of this? And if it is does anyone know where Paul Butler will be moving to? Seems strange because they seemed to get on pretty well.

Really didn't see that coming but the grass isn't always greener! Ernie has a small stable and puts a lot of time and effort into Paul Butler. I hope he makes the right decision going forward with his new coach because he seems a top guy and hope it works out.

No just your poor opinions, beat stuey hall, think hall landed one meaningful shot in 12 rounds. And how would you prepare for tete who is a freak at the weight, 72 inch reach and a southpaw, where do you find sparring for that?? And nobody is unprepared for a world title fight that would have made history, under prepared is just a silly comment because he lost.

butler and his camp were very confident pre fight and if you remember he was a heavy betting favourite.
Possibly a surprise then how big and talented he was but doesn't that indicate a poor preparation?

Tete looks talented but he had been beaten before , so wasn't sure whether Butler made him look even better than he was.

There are a couple of other things.
The corner was complaining that Butler wasn't doing what he was told in the corner but to me it's more about doing what you've practiced in training....ie, having a tactical plan and having a backup plan and practicing it.

 

Ps, do you know the camp then?
Who did he spar for the fight and what were the tactics?
I forget the details now but I remember another trainer saying that Butler refused to pay for sparring partners for that fight.
You probably remember the details better than I do.

At the end of the day Butler is a good wee fighter but was a decent world champion because the division lacks talent when it comes to world class fighters and when he fought one he got best easy. What happens with many boxers in this country they come up short at world level and move coach instead of looking in the mirror and realising they personally are not as good as they thought and it's not the trainers fault. I don't think it's a coincidence that most of our longest reigning world champs in last 15 years kept with the same trainer, Johnny Nelson, Joe Calzaghe, Carl Froch, Scott Harrison, even Ricky Burns and Ricky Hatton for long periods both were not the same after leaving their trainer. Look at people like Alex Arthur Kevin Mitchell who never fulfilled potential they Were always moving trainer.
