Who has Wilder beaten that makes you give him the 65:35 favourite?

Povetkin would BODY all of Wilders opponents.

Spilka won the first 4 rounds of their fight. That's all you need to know. Although it was the best version of Spilka we've seen and he did a good job at exploiting all of Wilder's flaws. Povetkin is more stiff & square which should help Wilder.

Spot on. People are being overly critical. Especially when taking into account how late in the game Wilder actually started to box seriously. Boxing takes years of dedication to master, and to get to the level he has in such a short period of time is a testament to his natural physical gifts.

You can see him improving on a fight to fight basis. I can certainly see the opinion that he's a "KO waiting to happen." That's due to his awkwardness, typically as a result of poor footwork and an off balance punch being thrown. There is certainly a danger there with his lack of a true amateur pedigree.

I think people are discounting him a little too readily. Doesn't mean he's going to be the second coming of Ali, but I don't see what people are complaining about. They should be happy there is some HW competition in the mix.

A world champion should be fighting the best contenders.

A world champion should not be cherry picking fights as he is learning on the job.

That is essentially the reason why people are pi ss ed off.

When you add this to the fact, that he is really not that great, and would be bodied by a number of contenders out there, people get even more p i ss ed off because they want to see the best fight the best.

I don't think your two positions are mutually exclusive.

Yes, Wilder is improving, and considering his late start he's obviously got some talent to go with his phyiscal traits. Good for him. But he's being judged, not unreasonably, as a freaking heavyweight champion of the world. That status should not be afforded someone with such flawed fundamentals. Whether or not they would have been ironed out by now if he grew up in a boxing gym is irrelevant.

Also it's pretty clear the guy was using 'coloured' as in distorted, influenced, affected etc

if you have to be able to beat someone to criticize them, athletes would almost never face any.

UK, it all makes sense now our apperceptive makeup is quite different I've been responding via my phone which really doesn't reveal location. If across the pond you genuinely use colored as a label describing a human with mixed ancestry then so be it. In many ways folks of an oppressed generation used the N word as a term of endearment and the same N word then took on a more multi-dimensional role by describing friends, enemies and people you don't even have a personal connection with just to water down its symbolic weight. The frustration in your words leads you to categorize me as someone who cries for your pity and calls myself a victim, there is nothing in my past posts that even remotely smells like victim I'm a man who practices manifest destiny being a victim is not in my vocabulary however to move forward you cannot dismiss the past that's simply logic if you chose to ignore it or misinterpret it that's your problem.

I'll leave the stupid comment alone since I'll admit I was more than willing to place that description on you 3 or 4 posts ago. It's seems you've limited the use of predetermined and can't wrap you head around a more abstract addition to the base definition which I guess is fine....not sure how the educational system works out there. Pre determinations can include stages, levels and self made ceilings of misconstrued evidence pre mature evidence and as you stated lack of/regardless of evidence. Wilders profolio today pre-Povetkin has allowed us as fans to create new predeterminations based on lack of evidence used towards how he would handle a stiff test on foreign soil. We haven't seen this movie yet and his acting career has yet to play this exact role so a predetermination is in order to settle or decide his fate in advance. Hope that adds some clarity or maybe it created a darker fog who knows.

Oh and I have taken a long hard look at myself and evolution did one heck of a good job.

I am still confused as to why the anger? He just won his title a few fights ago. You act like he's held the HW Title hostage for years or something. He hasn't. He literally won the belt at the beginning of last year.

He's barely been champion over a year, and is scheduled to fight Povetkin next. What's the problem?
