He would have timed Khan easily and maybe got a KO. Cause fights in and out in straight lines. Very easy for someone like Floyd to adapt to
Who knows Khan is talk with speed eventually Floyd would have figured him out but would have been Interesting
He would have beaten Khan, then most people would have said that Mayweather ducked Maidana to fight Khan.
Floyd via mid rounds stoppage. Too intelligent and strong for Khan. Khan still fights like an amateur bouncing up and down working in straight lines. Also for a big guy at the weight Khan isn't strong and he's not a puncher. I think Floyd would take centre ring timing him, by round 5/6 we would see Floyd walk him down. Khan is a good fighter but never has been and still isn't elite.
If, if, if... Margarito, Paul Williams, prime Pacquiao, Kostya Tszyu, Keith Thurman... Floyd knows who has the style to beat him. And he doesn't fight them.
Khan would take him right to the wire. I expect anything from 8-4 Khan to 7-5 Mayweather. Mayweather is literally a feather fist, his punches won't really hurt, Mayweather is not a volume puncher either so the chances of hitting Khan clean are even smaller.
Yet Khan was shook up and hurt by Algeri? If Mayweather can hurt fighters like Cotto, Canelo, DLH he can certainly hurt the egg chinned one.
I wish people would look at this objectively. Who has Khan looked really good against and who has Khan struggled against Paulie, kotelnik, Judah, Alexander, Collazo, Khan completly shut them out, guys who tried to box him. Look at the Peterson fight, Peterson could not get near him at long range, looked lost, but he changed it up albeit with the added advantage of peds, got inside and mauled Khan from the inside.. Style wise Khan does better against guys when he can control the range. What if Khan has success agaisnt floyd at range, even the haters have to admit Khan has a chance from there, can floyd change it up and close the gap and get inside. the only other way is to do what Diaz and Garcia did, just throw hook after hook when Khan throws his 4-5 punch combinations.
He never once 'hurt' them, he emphasised his feather fisted power far less in his late career. Algieri is the same guy who had a war with Provodnikov, hurting Provodnikov time after time. Also, it stylistically wasn't an easy fight for Amir. People hate Amir too much.
Exactly. One thing they have to also think about is that Khan getting hit like that has reduced under Virgil.
If he was so featherfisted they wouldn't have been so hesitant to engage. People overrate Khan waaay to much. It says something when you handpick an opponent to look good against (Algeri) and end up getting bullied and shook up by a featherfisted opponent.
